North Carolina to the rest of the country: "You're welcome."
Cheerwine is distributed in 12 states and is also sold online, where demand has recently increased significantly. For the brand’s 100th anniversary, Cheerwine executives want to expand distribution to all 50 states.

Any time that I play disc golf with my students we wager that the losers have to buy the winners Cheerwine. Most of them had never had Cheerwine before we started the bet. Yesterday the grocery store was out of the 20oz bottles so we bought a 12 pack. Good times.

Cheerwine is good for the occasional drink, but it's overrated. I don't think there's another soda out there that goes as flat as quickly as Cheerwine. And the diet label looks exactly like the regular one, what's up with that?

Cheerwine is one of the best sodas out there...and I really enjoyed the Krispy Kreme tribute last summer.

You're spot on saying it's great as an occasional drink and goes flat quickly. However, when nothing hits the spot as an occasional drink like Cheerwine does, then it's not overrated. It's amazing at what it is.

Cheerwine with HFCS in a plastic bottle = good/okay.
Cheerwine with real sugar in a glass bottle = Nectar of the gods....the filet mignon of sodas.

I think you mean corn sugar. The corn lobby tells me it's exactly the same as regular sugar. Why would they lie?!?!?

No way. I could eat Filet Mignon every day for a month and love it on day 31. Cheerwine is a once-in-a-while soda that gets old after consecutive cans.
Of course, the people of NC seem to be pretty good at overhyping everything they make....Cheerwine, Sweet Tea, Krispy Kreme, BBQ, and college basketball rivalries. All of them are above average, but not good enough for me to care about beyond the occasional change of pace.

This could and should be turned into a thread of its own. Well said.

I agree with all of this except for the Cheerwine part.

As much as I love Cheerwine, I must say nothing comes close to the best soda ever... Inca Kola. Its a Peruvian soda but it can be widely found in Florida. I'm not sure if that Macchu Picchu restaurant is still around, they would sometimes have it in stock but it was pretty expensive. I just bought it in bulk from Puerto Rico.

Impossible to overhype a Krispy Kreme doughnut.
You forgot Texas Pete hot sauce on your list, which oddly enough is made here in NC.

That's what I serve at my church's Wednesday night's Soul Cafe coffee bar. I guy from Pittsburgh, who has gone to the church for years, picked up a bottle and stared at it. He said he had never even heard of it...Yankees!

The bold part is the issue. I even said the Cheerwine with HFCS is not that great. It has to be a glass bottle & made with real sugar. Completely different.
The other comment you made is just hilarious.

Why do people from up there always ruin everything...I mean, everything? They've got to ruin it all?
It just doesn't make a lot of sense. They ruin their own area and then leave it because it's ruined and nasty and they come south to try to find beauty and they find it and then start ruining it.

So true. Look at their politics! They come from New York, move to Northern Virginia because of low taxes, and then vote for the same Democrats who raise their taxes again!
Mark Levin always says that Liberals are like locusts.
