Okay, so I know how that google thing works and I've tried it. My problem is that my old computer completely died (it doesn't even turn on anymore) and we got a new one. Fortunately, we were able to back up all of our photos before it bought the farm. Anyway, I have all of my music on my ipod and need to get it onto the new machine. Every site that offers help seems to tell me how to do it using Windows XP. I have Windows 7 and several of the instructions don't apply to the new version of the program. I'd prefer not to pay to get this done, so if you've got a free way to make this happen, let me know!

At the risk of sounding like a major idiot...
Don't you just plug the ipod into your computer, itunes will open, and then you can save the music to your itunes library? I thought ipods were basically plug-n-play. No?

My other grip about ITunes is the mp4 files. For example to make my Beatles CD I have to create it, convert it, rip it, than burn it.
It shouldn't take me 30 minutes to do this.
