Does "this kid" not have an editor that reads over this stuff? When I saw it I about fell out of my chair, I can't believe we have people dumb enough to write that running our newspaper

I'm also trying to understand the gist of the article. Is the author criticizing our bball team for winning "sloppy"?

I have no idea how things work at the paper these days. But generally speaking, the writer simply writes the story and an editor writes the headlines. So let's not be quick to lay blame on the writer.

As sad as it is, it wouldn't surprise me if the editor didn't even know the connotation there. You were at Bryson's a few summers ago when we had the big revelation about how little some people at Liberty know about stuff like that.

The two lines together make me think that someone knew exactly what they were talking about. You could stumble across one line but to pair them together makes me think someone knew what they were doing

I'm guessing the censors above the paper's staff missed this one. However, I must admit I did laugh when I saw it.
