As I stated awhile ago, I have a new job that has kept me busy. I see that there have been a few posts dedicated to me and I must say, I look MUCH better in tights and should have been considered for the role of JOKER or at least his side kick POKER!!! Because let's face it I am a 5 CARD STUD!!!
Are we all HONESTLY shocked that a) The field turf was/is not done on time and b) the Football ops center is not going to be "completely complete" for quite some time. BUT they will be able to "partially" occupy the building?? Is that a DeMoss flashback I am having???
IS it me or has anyone noticed this oddity regarding Football? With Karcher, a lot of emphasis was obviously placed on his NFL career. (Hey at least he put on PADS in the NFL, alot more then anyone else here has done) and almost as equally his Christian committment. FCA, Christian Schools, speaking etc. Now, we are seeing a lot about how good the team is going to be good, and they ARE going to be scary good, but the "religous" side........not so much. Anyone know why this is? I don't know Coach Rocco or any of his new staff (obviously excluding Eddie "Soul Brother Butter" Gomes and Dave "Dont' Confuse Me with Newt Gingerich" Sundheim) so I am not sure where they are spiritually. Would sort of be nice to know.
Men's basketball seems to have more transfers then a Cayman Island bank. Not bad, not good, just is.
Glad to see Liberty Counsel has so much free time on their hands. Did he actually say "Well we don't care if some teams dont play us, just so long as it is not a boycott" Help me out on this one: If they don't play you, you don't play them. If they boycott you, you don't play them. Am I missing something? I thought they were all in a tizzy over teams not playing them? What point are they trying to accomplish again? And it was odd that the focus of the article was NOT on football like it had been on the past.
What!?!? Liberty has rules??? Who knew??/
Finally, before you all fa......er fad out, I was browsing the World Cup Thread (Can't believe Argentina got bounced so early) and a little disappointed that no one mentioned seeing me on the pitch. But alas, it is my ego that is bruised and since I realize non of you REALLY know who I am, I forgive you all. So in an entirely self serving move, I have posted some of my hightlights for you to look at. Enjoy

Glad to have you back aboard, Cowboy! We hadn't "herd" from you all summer.

Welcome back,
Your dreams were your ticket out.

Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about.

Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around.

Who'd have thought they'd lead ya (Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)

Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've got him on the spot, welcome back,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

Are you sure you know Coach Sundheim? 'Cuz his name's not Dave.

Honestly, I had the same concern when the new staff came in. I can say that, generally speaking, the guy's on this staff are younger in their faith than the past staff but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think this staff relates better to the players spiritually b/c some of the things the coaches deal with are the same things that the players and all young Christians deal with. It also allows some of the older guys like Soul Brother and Pete "Don't Confuse Me with My Son, Dave, Who is Certainly Not Brokeback's Type" Sundheim to have an greater influence than they had previously. My nickel's worth anyway.

Relating to the players! That is great to hear, because one can make a similar impact spiritually by being able to relate to the players in the "been there, done that" category. As the Cowboy said, we really haven't even touched on the spiritual aspect of the new staff and team.

OK for starters, there ARE a lot of Sundheims floating around. Also, it could be his OTHER son Pete. But you are correct, and I guess I don't "know' him the way you do!! I sit/stand/squat corrected. But seriously, he does sorta look like newt gingrich doesn't he?
