All right, Flame Fans, our Quiz Bowl team is traveling to Coastal this weekend for the Big South tournament, and I need directions and restaurant recommendations.

What's the best way to get to Conway/Myrtle from Lynchburg???

US 29 South
Bus 85 South
US 220 South
I-74 E
US 38 South/East (2nd exit for Hamlet)
US 38 runs right into US 501 after you cross over I-95
501 takes you right into Conway

Should take you about 4.5 hours. No more than 5.

Thanks, Super! Everybody agree that's the best way? Now for some restaurant recommendations in Myrtle or Conway...

If you can expense it Id eat at Broadway at the Beach...got a few good restaurants in the area and if you have any downtime you can walk through there and check out the Ripley's Aquarium. SJ probably is the best person for real detailed suggestions on where to eat there though

Broadway at the Beach is more of a tourist trap, but they do have Planet Hollywood and Hard Rock Cafe' as places to eat (we ate at the Hard Rock following a women's tennis win over then-defending champion Coastal), and some decent shopping as well.

As for route, just go with SJ's suggestion is all I can say. Haven't actually done the drive myself so I have no idea.

stay on 501 and you won't get lost :D

But yeah sounds like SJ's route is the best. I drive there from Roanoke so obviously I go down 220 but you end up at the Interstate 74 thing as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys, and keep them coming. The word on the street is that the marching band eats at KFC. I wonder where Coach Rocco takes his team for dinner?

You try feeding almost 200 hungry college students on a weekend...
