Just when I thought we'd never have to revisit the Lacrosse van wreck ever again, this bizarre story from Maine is bringing it back up ...

I remember this back from about 6 months ago I think....I was hoping that I wouldnt hear about it any more. Seems like the linking is mental stability to the car wreck is quite a reach though.....you had to be born this crazy.

Horrible!

Now, I'll ask for some who might know, did Liberty offer any counseling to these guys after the accident? I don't mean just immediately following the accident, but continual attempts to counsel these guys.

Also, does anyone know Mr. Gurney???

I don't think it had anything to do with the accident.

LAX = psycho.

No? Look at the kid from UVa. Look at all the hoopla at Duke. Look at even the craziness we've had related to lacrosse on this board.

I'm telling you. The sport attracts bad mojo.

All kidding aside, this is absolutely horrible. No getting around it. That guy needs help and I hope he gets it. I, too, was hoping to forget about this after the first time it came up. Ugh.

yah that name just stuck out immediately when i saw that headline today and i remembered back in convo of that year with doc and others giving updates on his health after all the surgeries and everything. I agree with Scorh on this, the whole sport is just attracting a lot of psychos now. I just hate that it has to be attached to the university because on all the headlines "LU" lacrosse gets attached. I guess it's because the wreck is tied to this. I read one of the other stories from one of the Portland newspaper and it said his best friend was going to testify that he tried to get him to say he had been acting crazy before it happened and to blame it on the wreck. The whole thing is just disgusting.

In all fairness. I did hear that something happened after the wreck. I was told that before the wreck he was an average LU Kid that was very social. After the wreck, where is suffered major head trauma, he isolated himself from everyone and started getting Tattoos everywhere and his life changed. He dropped out of school and returned to Portland.

This situation sucks, for him, for the girl's family, for Liberty, for his friends and he probably deserves the death penalty for doing it (who would argue that), but please pray for everyone involved, including Chad.
