sister in law's dude finally proposed. not sure if this is good or bad. also not sure if we'll drive or not, as we will probably have to go around WV as i have a speeding ticket i never paid back in the day and i'm not sure about statute of limitations.

I was trying to search online to see if I could find any outstanding speeding tickets. Apparently, there are no outstanding tickets for Fred McGriff in West Virginia, but backgroundchecks.com wanted $39.95 to verify the information.

I never see cops in West Virginia, and I have to drive through there multiple times a year. It's not a big state, just don't drive too fast and you'll be fine. Also, don't buy gas there.

It is good of you to give the fine citizens of Lynchburg fair warning, Mallet. As for WV, I saw most of the law enforcement on my trip this past fall on I-64. The turnpike only had one speed trap set up.

Medic could probably give you more accurate info, but I believe the statute of limitations on tickets is like 7-10 years.

I got a completely illegitimate ticket while driving overnight through Louisiana en route to my grandmother's funeral back before Louisiana joined the cooperative points system. After discovering that I would have to drive back to backwoods Louisiana to try and argue my ticket to a local yokel judge I just passed on paying the ticket. I kept expecting something to come int he mail asking for payment but it never came. Nonetheless I drove not one mile over the speed limit for years driving across that state for a long time. A lawyer in Louisiana told me I had nothing to worry about since the records in the state were overhauled years before so my ticket wasn't even on the books anymore. Even with this info, I always drive with extreme caution through the state. So I understand your concerns, Mallet.

In my best Gomer Pyle voice, somebody needs to make a "citizen's arrest!"

10-4 to that, although those TAMARAC places on the turnpike are cool. No doubt W.Va. will be the first to $3.50 a gallon.

They advertise that Tamarac like it's the premiere tourist attraction in the state. It fills me with wonder and mystery every time I drive by. I don't get why a rest stop is such a big deal.

It's a glorified craft fair. However, refueling with a cup of Starbucks is always nice.

Tour buses even make scheduled trips to Tamarac. It's sort of the Times Square of WV.

You really don't have to worry about getting a speeding ticket here in WV as long as you're on one of the interstates. I literally have passed state trooper's multiple times going 15 over with no problems whatsoever.
Also the gas prices here are completely ridiculous.

Tamarac is the one stop we make on the turnpike. Restrooms and bouncy balls for the kids, a bag or two of snacks and drinks, and we're back on the road. NEVER have gotten gas there -- get off in Beckley (next exit) and drive a mile or so and you can get non-turnpike gas prices.

No, it's a giant arts and craft fair. There is a rest stop in front of it, though.

The PAmedic clan will be in town for the majority of next week- staying at an undisclosed location.

Anyone that would like to babysit may PM me. I'll entertain any offers. Both boys are workers.
