Everything is cheap in Texas, and somehow the number of Walmarts were used in making calculations.

I didn't find it to be that much more of other malls of it's class. Which is, admittedly, far above my class.

I'll back Houston on shopping though. The Galleria and surrounding area was a lot of fun. Just bring your wallet.

For the record, Sly, just how many Wal-Marts does Houston have?

The article mentioned that Charlotte & San Antonio have the most Walmarts with 8. Charlotte.

No wonder they were ranked #1.

I don't know what you mean by "properly support", but if Lynchburg has 3, there should be lots of places that can support 8 or more.

Lynchburg has 3 Wal-Marts?

Well, there's Wards Rd. and Madison Heights, and Old Forest Rd.

There's also one in Bedford, one in Altavista, and one in Appo. Within 20 miles of downtown Lynchburg, there's 6 Wal-Mart stores.

There are 11 (if my count is correct) within 20 miles of my hometown, Kernersville, NC, which has a population of less than 20,000. I don't count the 10 that aren't in Kernersville though.

Madison Heights isn't Lynchburg. Lynchburg only has 2.
