Juan Williams fired from NPR

I'm surprised no one has posted this. Maybe I missed it somewhere else.

It seems that Mr. Williams was fired because he said when he gets on a plane and sees Muslim people in Muslim garb, people that are first and foremost Muslim, it makes him nervous.

I can't believe he was fired for that. I saw him on O'Reilly last night and Mr. Williams seemed generally hurt and stunned that he was terminated over the above comment.

That was only NPR's excuse for firing him. He said himself that he thought they were looking for a reason to get rid of him -- his mistake was saying that he hung out with the liberals at NPR -- NPR doesn't want to admit any bias, even though anyone can see it.

NPR is going to get nailed for this, from both sides of the aisle.

As much as I enjoy a few of the programs on NPR and PBS, federal funding should have ceased long ago. At least the controversy with Juan Williams has raised the issue again. Maybe now this is one government cutback that will happen, although I doubt it.
