The LU Quiz Bowl team is heading down to Duke on Saturday, and we are hoping to score some Carolina BBQ after the tournament. Does anybody from the area recommend a BBQ joint between Durham and the VA state line that accepts credit cards?

You'll have to call to verify on the credit cards and hours of business, but I can give you two places you might want to try...

1. Allen & Son Bar-B-Q in Chapel Hill. It's right on Highway 86 which is on your way back to Lynchburg. Allen & Son is on the NC Historic BBQ trail. They're old school and I love them. - (919) 942-7576

2. Backyard BBQ Pit in Durham. (As featured on Man vs. Food ep 205) Two locations, but you'll probably want the one on Guess Rd. Check them both out at http://sweetribs.com/. (919) 477-8609 for the Guess Rd. location.

Should those fail you, it's not barbecue, but I'd highly recommend just tracking down the Only Burger truck and grabbing one of those if they're anywhere nearby.

They just came in first or second (we won't know for sure until Sunday) in Food Network's nationwide contest to be on the second season of The Great Food Truck Race, and they do accept credit cards.

I just ate at Uncle Yammy's in Greenville. Great taste, but I suppose that's more than a little out of your way.

That helps, too, JK, because the NAQT regionals in February will be held at ECU. And thanks, Scorcho, those places sound great for this Saturday!

This one. Great NC BBQ.

And read my signature if you need any info on which is better.
