Mel Gibson came to Lynchburg in '04 and toured the campus and we all really wanted him to speak in convo? But he didn't. I think he was actually here checking out In Service America's call center for something he was doing but we gave him the VIP treatment here. This was right around the time The Passion was coming out. Boy don't we feel dumb. That guy is one of Hollywood's top creeps it seems like. Which is a big list. This school gets way too star struck sometimes. At least we didn't give him some kind of honorary degree.

At the time, was it known that he was one of Hollywood's biggest creeps? And I do remember that, there were rumors that the Passion would be shown pre-release in the Vines Center.

I think it was known in Hollywood circles but it didnt get much airtime because he was just like all the other wacko's out there....but now that he made a Christian movie the microscope is on and he's being exposed. I dont think he "changed" all that much in just a few years time, Id find that hard to believe.

I disagree. I read the excerpts of the rant on Drudge a couple days ago. Hollywood is full of crazies, but not all of them are rage-a-holics, that apparently hate women, Jews, African-Americans, their child's other parent, and their own child...well maybe only half of them. I don't think just because he made a "Christian" movie he is being exposed, it's because his life has been spiraling out of control, by his own making, and he can't hide as well as he used to. If anything, Passion and Apocalyptica, were the last walls he had to hide behind, and now they're gone too, and now he is exposed.

Not for those who subscribe to the, "Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil" mentality. Also, if you have a young daughter, sister, or niece, you may not want to read this. The blood pressure alone might kill you.

Doesn't bode well for the future of Mel's career. He is an idiot.
