... and I'm not referencing Madagascar.

This storm in the Southern Gulf is picking up steam and inching further north toward Texas. Most models have the storm heading either just south or north of the Rio Grande. Some are suggesting it could be a Category III by the time it makes landfall. While Houston appears out of danger I have a lot of family in South Texas. So I'll be watching this storm closely.

Incidentally I have some business deals working for the fall in South Padre Island. Let's hope this storm doesn't blow them away ... literally.

This reminds me of wanting Jim Cantore's job when I was growing up.

Anyway, prayers for your family Sly, hope they stay safe and their homes and businesses/places of work make it through with minimal damage.

I went through it on the cruise.....although it was nothing more than some rain showers at that point.

Its never a good sign for locals when Jim Cantore is on his way....

Alex has all it needs to bite. It just has to take the bait. High likelihood of TEXMEX landfall +/- 100 miles. On my way to Brownsville, TX

Tell me about it. I remember him being here in Roanoke in December for that snowstorm.
