I somewhat accept the inevitability of replacing an old lefty judge with a young lefty judge, so there's really no stopping that. I am very against an academic who'd never actually been a judge though. In any field, the difference between teaching and doing is miles apart. [Insert cheesy teaching cliche here] Who knows what she thinks or would do in any given situation.

I've never been set on requiring a nominee for the Supreme Court to have been previously a judge for, but I do think it's important that it's known without a doubt what they believe and how they interpret the Constitution.

I just wish the press would get a new stock photo of this chick *shudder*

I can't belive that Mike Meyers got nominated for the SC.

She's going to be the ugliest guy on the SC.

The only thing worse than being on the SC with no judicial experience is being in the white house with no executive experience.

Thanks. I'll be here all week.

Thanks, HMO. Also, Joe Paterno, Jodie Foster, Clarence Thomas, Diane Sawyer, Harrison Ford, & Matt Damon (among others) seemed to find work as English majors: http://faculty.irsc.edu/dept/English/Fa ... Majors.htm
