13,000ft up a Turkish mountain, it has been claimed.
A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers say they have found wooden remains on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey.

They claim carbon dating proves the relics are 4,800 years old — around the same time the ark was said to be afloat.

:dontgetit I'm not sure what is more strange/unusual:

Chinese evangelicals
Turkish evangelicals
Chinese and Turkish evangelicals together
Evangelical explorers

But seriously, if they are evangelicals, there's a good chance they doubt the reliability of carbon dating in the first place.

Carbon dating always seems to mislead and turn out to be wrong, this will probably end up being the remains of some dude's house or barn.

If you're impressed by this there must be some legitimacy

i just perused the foxnews article and it seems like they found something regardless at 13000 feet. generally mt arrarat is horrible weather wise.

unless the size can be verified, i'll reserve judgement.

i assume that the media will do what it can to sweep this under the rug until they have found a way to make christians look like lunatics in regards to this.

I seem to remember Noah's ark being found a few times.

That one involves an LU prof looking for it. I remember reading something about the natives in the area all knowing of some kind of wooden structure up in the mountains. I think that story is what I'm thinking of.

my only worry is that its not that high up or that its in an entirely different area. confirm neither of those are true and you have a pretty significant find if everything matches up to biblical specifications.

Well they found it in a glacier, right? So that means it would possibly be moving.

Even if it were legit, people would choose not to believe.

oh absolutely. i've already heard one guy go, "so what!? its still impossible to round up every animal and have it on a ship"

when lazarus told the rich man, "If they do not listen to moses an the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone comes back from the dead." luke 16:31 i think?

if someone came back from the dead or we found the ark or we found undeniable evidence of God. there would still be "unbelievers"

the christian faith is founded on Love not fear. if someone comes back from the dead and tells me that there is a God i'm going to believe and do things i should. but not out of love for Christ but out of fear of God's wrath. peopel that believe in God based off of archeological proof can't just rely on that only. Its nice but there has to be love and admonision. otherwise all you have is bitterness. kind of like doing what your boss tells you but still hating his guts.

a leaked email? Who would have leaked it. Those Kurds sounds like a bunch of pranksters. What are they trying to accomplish by tricking these people?
