So, how's business looking these days

Indoor tanning salons will charge customers a 10 percent tax beginning today in just one of the changes Americans will see as a result of the U.S. health-care overhaul signed into law by President Barack Obama.
And I thought the Lynchburg food tax was bad.

It'll be fine, people will still go and prices will simply be adjusted. We're talking about .30 cents more the majority of the time anyways. This has been years in the making and hasnt taken anyone off guard...I would imagine you will see similar taxes on Tobacco products and Alcohol too, it's only logical to pay extra taxes on something that can be a health risk when your paying for peoples HC

HMO - I very quickly skimmed your post & I thought you said you were going to serve alcohol at Tan State. That's got to help the bottom line, right?

Agree with HMO here.
I'm no expert on the demographics of tanning salons/shops/whatever you want to call it, but I would guess that most have the disposable income that a small tax increase on anything wouldn't make any difference to them to begin with. Either that or they are using their daddy's money to pay for it, which in that case it wouldn't matter at all unless daddy cut it off.
