A woman talking on a cell phone during a movie didn't take to kindly to being 'shushed' by another moviegoer. Or at least her boyfriend didn't.

In a drama that turned more lively than the one on screen, the boyfriend allegedly attacked and stabbed the 'shusher' in the neck. With a meat thermometer.

The theory I heard was that the stabber was probably an ex-con who couldn't carry guns or large knives without risking violating his parole. So, he carried a meat thermometer.

Of course, not violating your parole is pretty tough when you're being all stabby and stuff at the movies.

I had to quite going to movies for a while because I was a shusher. More of a snapper, actually. But it accomplished the same thing. I'm a bit more patient now. Which is good. I'd like to not be stabbed in the neck.

With small children, we tend to go to theaters where noise is considered a non-issue. Half the crowd is noisy kids and the other half talks back to the screen much of the time. That's why tend to watch most of our movies at home these days.

Movies cost way to much these days to deal with that crap... unless it's avatar in imax.. i'll wait to watch it on redbox. Not because i'm cheap but because the viewing experience is better.

I have to admit I agree with the concealed weapons permit comments.

I say we outlaw meat thermometers!

Of course then Martha Stewart will become president of the NMTA and start lobbying congress to protect our constitutional rights to bear.
