Not surprisingly there are a slew of search engines and porn sites. But I have to admit I didn't expect to see live.com so high.

What stands out to you?

I'm a little surprised weather.com is as far down as it is. It's sad that there are 2 porn sites within the top 65. These are sites visited most, which means a lot of people know about them. It's a shame :nonono

It's a shame but I'm surprised there's not more.

It's amazing that google is #1, 13, 15, 16, 25, 28, 31, 37, 39, 51, 68, 77, 81, and 87. That's 14 spots out of 100.

I'm also impressed that medic has a job and a family, yet still has enough time to push aol.com all the way up to #43. I'm assuming he gets there by using Keyword: AOL.

I'm not sure I quite buy this completely. It seems somewhat right, but there's no way English sites are the most popular sites worldwide. Chinese sites should be dominating this list. I suspect their ability to track and rank isn't as reliable as they'd have everyone believe.

If you go to a site thru a proxy, would it show up? That's why 4chan wouldn't be on there, if that's the case.

I don't know how proxies work, but I would think the proxy is what accesses the site, not the user, so multiple people using 4chan at once from the same proxy service, they might not be "unique users"...

I dunno, I agree, makes no sense for 4chan to be missing. That place gets hits like crazy.

google yes, but I would recommend never ever going there no matter how curious you are. That which is seen can never be unseen. You might just want to read about it on wikipedia.

Unless you were just being sarcastic.

Wikipedia will give you what you need. Yahoo and Bing are just as good at Google, and slightly less evil and not as boring.

Just pretend you never heard of it. Trust me.

And TTL: Rules 1 and 2.

In terms of unique users, it doesn't matter if you go through a proxy or not. Unique users aren't determined by IP address.

Fair enough.
