My favorite line is probably the last line in the article.
SEATTLE, WA (WTOL) -- A Seattle company has announced a new policy most employees would love -- unlimited paid vacation.

Social Strata, a company that runs social networking, announced this week it has done away with its jury, funeral, maternity or any other type of leave.

Instead, the company is offering unlimited paid vacation time for full-time employees.

"We have grown ups in this office. We have people who work really hard, really passionately all the time and why not give them the opportunity to schedule their lives the way that they need to," said Social Strata President Rosemary O'Neill.

When O'Neill first announced the policy her employees thought it was a joke, but now that they know it's not, they're thrilled.

They do not have any job openings at this time.

Hmmm. They "run social networking"; whatever that means.

To do this you would have to have positions with clearly defined responsibilities which are more long term than day to day. As long as employees are getting their assigned work done, theoretically it wouldn't matter how much time off they take. It'll be interested to see if and how much the amount of vacation taken actually increases with no limit.

thats pretty much how my companies run. i get 18 days of vaca a year. but i take half days all the tiem that don't count. we also get what is called Bonus vacation. our busy season revolves around school district schedules so they want us to take vacation when they take vacation and encourage us to do so. how do they do that?

during july and august, i get 5 full days of vacation for only 3 vacation days. christmas? 2 for 1 days.

this summer i'll take 2 weeks off it will cost me 6 days. xmas i'll probably take 3 weeks off again and it will cost me 6 days. that leaves me 6 days for my fishing vacation in october.
