1. The Wire
2. The Sopranos
3. Arrested Development
4. Freaks and Geeks
5. Mad Men
6. Breaking Bad
7. The Office (UK)
8. LOST
9. Deadwood
10. The Shield
11. The Office (US)
12. Battlestar Galactica
13. 30 Rock
14. Futurama
15. Veronica Mars
16. Friday Night Lights
17. Firefly
18. How I Met Your Mother
19. Big Love
20. Tim And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!
21. Curb Your Enthusiasm
22. Six Feet Under
23. Undeclared
24. Dexter
25. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
26. The Venture Bros.
27. Flight of the Conchords
28. Eastbound & Down
29. Wonder Showzen
30. The West Wing

Interesting list. I watch a lot of TV, but I've got to admit, I haven't seen a lot of those. Heck, I've never even heard of some of them. I think it's because I don't get HBO and the rest of the pay channels.

Good to see some of my favorites though. I was/am into 3, 6, 8, 11, 13, and 14. I'm a little disappointed to see they felt they needed to place the UK Office over the US Office. The US version has fallen off this season but I really think people just say the UK version is better because they saw it first and then the US one debuted and wasn't initially as good. It has had some epic seasons since.

the uk office is funnier in a more realistic way....the us office is funny but so stupid that it takes away from the hilarity. like a (i'm not even sure this makes sense) office series that met in the middle of the 2 series would be the best.

1. The Wire (boring. all these hbo series are supposed to be ground breaking crap and in the end they are too artsy fartsy or elitist...no thanks)
2. The Sopranos (single handedly is the reason we have all these douchebags walking around in sweatsuits thinking they are gangsters)
3. Arrested Development (alright...cult following...not as great as these guys think it is)
4. Freaks and Geeks (never seen)
5. Mad Men (i tried to watch it...but that guy is malcom's dad....not the guy in this show)
6. Breaking Bad (heard of it, never seen it)
7. The Office (UK)
8. LOST (my number 1)
9. Deadwood
10. The Shield (alright...but i tire of cop dramas)
11. The Office (US)
12. Battlestar Galactica (a good one...i watched it for the most part all the way through)
13. 30 Rock (ok)
14. Futurama (i'll watch every once in a while)
15. Veronica Mars
16. Friday Night Lights
17. Firefly
18. How I Met Your Mother
19. Big Love
20. Tim And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! (this list lost all credibility here....its so horrible...)
21. Curb Your Enthusiasm (one of the best)
22. Six Feet Under
23. Undeclared
24. Dexter
25. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
26. The Venture Bros.
27. Flight of the Conchords
28. Eastbound & Down

I guess I live a sheltered life because I've never heard of shows like Undeclared, Venture Brothers or Wonder Showzen. Somehow I have managed to survive without them.

Breaking Bad is the show with Malcolm's dad. Speaking of which, I've caught some reruns of that lately and it is seriously underrated.

Complete Ditto here. Summer Glau was fantastic in both the series and the movie. You can pick up the entire series for $30 or so now.

Freaks & Geeks was a classic, too.

I've enjoyed catching myself up on Friday Night Lights via Netflix, when I have the time.

I always laugh at the Office (US) when I watch, but I rarely catch it. The UK was good, too. (A lot of bus trips with an English soccer coach, and he loved watching the UK seasons on DVD while we traveled.)

I always found Big Love interesting when I aught an episode. Too many HBO shows call "groundbreaking" what is really just shock value, because no one's done it before. To HBO's producer's: there may be a reason for that in some cases.

But Firefly: definitely my #1 on this list.

That's why you gotta check it out. The two names are about the ship they fly, it's a Firefly class ship named Serenity. But the whole show is basically a western-style sci-fi, completely original. At least check out the movie, it's awesome.

1. The Wire (excellent show - I enjoyed it thoroughly)
2. The Sopranos (would have been my number 1 or 2)
3. Arrested Development (never watched)
4. Freaks and Geeks (excellent and very underrated)
5. Mad Men (interchangeable at 1 or 2 with the Sopranos)
6. Breaking Bad (never watched)
7. The Office (UK) (never watched)
8. LOST (never watched)
9. Deadwood (never watched but will be in the Netflix queue very soon)
10. The Shield (never watched)
11. The Office (US) (very good)
12. Battlestar Galactica (never watched but I've heard nothing but good things)
13. 30 Rock (not my cup of tea)
14. Futurama (not a fan)
15. Veronica Mars (never watched)
16. Friday Night Lights (never watched)
17. Firefly (never watched)
18. How I Met Your Mother (my number 1 comedy)
19. Big Love (very good HBO show)
20. Tim And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! (never watched)
21. Curb Your Enthusiasm (never watched)
22. Six Feet Under (never watched but another candidate for Netflix)
23. Undeclared (just got from Netflix after finishing up Freaks and Geeks; haven't watched much)
24. Dexter (another Netflix add)
25. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (never watched)
26. The Venture Bros. (never watched)
27. Flight of the Conchords (season 1 was excellent, season 2 was pretty good)
28. Eastbound & Down (hilarious)
29. Wonder Showzen (never watched)
30. The West Wing (never watched)

I would have included House in the top 5. Also, True Blood should be on the list somewhere.

Wow we don't agree much, but i agree 100% on both points.

I even watch "Castle" on Abc now.
We're going to have to go back to disagreeing, because I think man-crushes are gross.

I was surprised that 24 and House weren't on the list. I can see someone not really liking 24. As for House, even though it's basically the same episode over and over, each episode is really enjoyable by itself.

People always say that about House. But that show is 100% about the characters. The story is completely secondary. It's a vehicle to watch an interesting character like House interact with others.
