I won't be getting it right away, since I won't be getting paid 'til the end of the month. However, I am very anxious to get this game...

I am Space 0lympics (That's a zero to start 0lympics) on Xbox Live if you want to add me, I play COD 4 for now, if you (or anyone else) still plays it.

I'm hoping for a deeper story mode in this one.

I hate, hate, hate online gaming. I couldn't care less that my kill ratio is higher than nolife627 or inmymomsbasement7331.

I will most likely be getting this for Christmas. When I get my bandwidth issues worked out with Verizon, you can be expecting to see me on COD4 with you TTL.

I know, it's like every once in a while I'll get like 3 weeks where I can barely watch youtube videos. I'm in the middle of it right now. I switched to VOIP months ago and it makes it pretty useless.

Activision CEO Says ‘Warfare’ May Outsell Top Hollywood Films Share Business
By Adam Satariano

Nov. 5 (Bloomberg) -- A battle against Russian nationalists may give Activision Blizzard Inc. the biggest entertainment release of the year, said Chief Executive Officer Bobby Kotick.

Sales of Activision’s “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2,” to be released on Nov. 10, could surpass the top films of 2009, Kotick said. Some analysts have predicted the game may break the all-time video-game sales record set last year by Take-Two Interactive Software Inc.’s “Grand Theft Auto 4.”

“‘Modern Warfare’ has the potential to be the biggest entertainment launch and not just of a video game,” Kotick said today in an interview.

Total video-game industry revenue is down 13 percent this year through September, according to NPD Group Inc. GameStop Inc., the largest game retailer, said it has more pre-orders for the title than any other release in its history. The year’s top movie worldwide, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” had box office sales of $929 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

Mike Hickey, an analyst with Janco Partners Inc., projects the game to sell 7.8 million copies in its first week, at a retail value of $569 million. “Grand Theft Auto 4” sold 6 million copies for sales of $500 million in its first week, Hickey said. “Modern Warfare 2” may sell a total of 11.1 million units this year, with a retail value of $803 million, Hickey said.

I will probably wait to get a used copy. COD Modern warfare 1 had a crappy multiplayer set up. It was fun, dont get me wrong, I just didnt like the set up of it. And the story was lacking. Too much of 'ok now do this, and now do this. good, you beat the level', and thats one of the things I think games need to get away from, make it more choose your own way. ODST did this quite a bit more than Halo 3, but there is still a lot that you cant control that makes it not as fun.

Like if your going to use the fact that there is a helicopter on the game, dont make it something you only use once and you dont even really use it as much as it uses you in the game. Id love to see a COD or Halo game along the same lines as grand theft auto 4 in terms of what you do and when you do it and how you do it

They are pretty hard on not releasing it till midnight. Many of the video game companies threaten to punish stores that release it earlier.

Haha, I have no money, and there's no way I was staying up to get it, anyways, since I have a 7:40 I can't skip. I've heard there's some awesome campaign levels, tho.

My big problem w/ the game is that (and I'm saying this as someone who hasn't played it) the campaign mode is too short (only a few hours). I do most of my playing in campaign mode, not in online shoot-em-ups, so this is a bit disappointing.

I read an article yesterday that they are predicting it to gross about as much as GTA4 and even beat out a majority of major movies from this past year.

Crazy.

so when you first put the game in, it says "some players may be offended by one of the levels on the campaign, would you like to skip this level or no?"

anyone have any idea yet whats so offensive?

You are working w/ the special ops trying to infiltrate a terrorist organization. You go along with the terrorists as they break into an airport (a la Season 5 of 24). Not wanting to blow your cover, you are there, picking off innocent civilians. At the end of the level, your guy is killed by the leader of the terrorists.
