Maybe we should require some of these students to spend more time on campus in a real classroom..

The Case of the Friday Night Football Scriptures up in Catoosa County has taken a strange turn.

On Monday, the county school superintendent – responding to what she termed as a complaint – declared that cheerleaders at the local high school would no longer be allowed to paint Bible verses on the paper banners that football players crash through on game night.

Much of the northwest Georgia community erupted.

Who was the interloper who blew the whistle on this colorful Christian – but legally indefensible – tradition? A mom who had just finished a class on education law at Liberty University, the institution founded by the Rev. Jerry Fallwell.

huh, that's ironic I suppose. But LU has a lot of knobs on campus too.

lol -- my wife is getting her BA in accounting (after getting a BS in History Ed from LU and getting within a thesis of her masters in history), so I feel sorry for her classmates right now. She's got a sense of humor (she has to -- she married me, after all), but she takes the classes seriously. Right now she's going nuts on a group project because the thesis statement her group came up with is pathetically weak, but they won't change it.

For the record it isnt someone "on campus" it's a Distance Learning student....they can be tougher to patrol

VERY true. I have to be careful, because in one of my classes I put a link here on my proile page, but there are some odd ducks taking DLP classes.

Of course, I might BE one of those odd ducks, who knows.

SNL made fun of this on Weekend Update.

Something along the lines of she was obviously referring to the verse where the Pharisees yell at Jesus, "push 'em back....push 'em back....waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back."

ehh....its hit or miss. The Obama cold opening this past week was funny. Weekend Update is usually the funniest segment on the show.

and the only reason I watch...so worth it

Thanksgiving weekend update with Justin Timberlake was possibly the funniest thing ever on SNL. He did a rundown of the show he was supposed to do the next week in 1 minute. look it up its hilarious
