I'm looking to broaden my horizons, and I'd like to subscribe to some magazines...

I'm thinking I can stick with Sports Illustrated (for obvious reason), Newsweek (until my subscription runs out), and I might add Wired (cuz I want to stay on the cutting edge of technological advances) and BusinessWeek (same as above).

Any suggestions?

I really enjoy Mental Floss. It's great bathroom reading.

How can you have a magazine list without including Popular Mechanics? It's a necessity.

Also, Geek is pretty fun to read, and I subscribed to Mens Health for a long time, and it's a pretty good monthly read. I used to really like Fortune when I thought I was interested in the corporate business world, but haven't read it in a long time.

Consumer Reports. It's my favorite magazine. Plus if you subscribe you get access to their online database. You'd never have to worry about buying something again.

lol. I won't be much help (not that I ever am), but here goes:

I get Biblical Archaeology Review, Christian History, Writer's Digest, and T.H.E. Journal (for technology teachers). I used to get the SBTS Theological Journal, but that costs way too much money. I guess the only magazine I ever subscribed to that would interest the average magazine reader was Sports Ilustrated (which I want to get again, just because of the deal they have with Madden 10).

My wife cashed in some miles that were about to expire for about 15 subscriptions last year and now our mailbox is bursting at the seams nearly every day. But these are the ones I actually enjoy reading that weren't previously listed:

Entrepreneur
Conde Nast Traveler (I used to love Portfolio before it died a few months ago)

I have some Christian sports magazines that are quite interesting. It's called Sports Spectrum. A couple months ago there was an article about Seth and Steph Curry...

I'd be interested to know how you explain Maxim to your wife. "It was the only choice left!"

Yea, I don't get maixm. If you have a wife, why do you need scantily clad photos of other women? Just ask your wife to take that department over 8)

Maxim is pretty tame. The wife reads it on occasion as well. The articles aren't exactly deep, but it's decent throne-sitting material.

Because most people don't have wife's that look as hot as the women in maxim.

For the exact opposite of Maxim, you should get National Geographic. You never have to read it because the pictures are so good.

BTW, read "Sex begins in the Kitchen" by Kevin Lehman, and I bet your wife will be a little more willing.

I've tried to tell my wife that, but she says the windows are too big.

There were a ton of Magazine deals on slickdeals before Christmas so I signed up for a bunch and I must say I'm happy with all of them:

Fast Company - Great magazine for anyone young and interested in business. It reminds me alot of what a magazine would be if it was made by Google type people

INC- same idea as Fast Company

MotorTrend - It was like $5 for the year...why not

Maxim - Again..$5 :D

and a few others that havent come in yet.

You signed up before Christmas and a few haven't come in yet? That shouldn't happen with magazines....look up the "creep effect" on Tuesday Morning Quarterback.
