Jobs on campus

Trying to get a student job on campus, but was wondering if anyone knew anything about applying. it says that once students turn in the application, they contact the departments? so like I need to call the departments and say "i turned in an application can i get a job" in better words?

Basically just tell them that you applied for "such and such" position and then tell them that HR said that they need to ask for for application to be sent to them. I find it rather odd and roundabout but thats how it works

basically you do that actual applying at the individual departments. they will ask if you have an application on file with HR, and you have to say yes to continue the process...

and you have to know people...unless its building services, because they always need people
