Whaaaat? I've been watching "Pitchmen" every week and I'm kind of attached to him. He really seemed like a guy that would be real fun to know. Man, I'm really bummed out about this.

Our camp rules video this summer is a parody of Billy Mays. I've got to show it to 130 campers at 5:15. This will be awkward.

Since we know the whole "famous people die in groups of three" thing is true, and we just had 3 celebs go last week, is this just an anomalie, or are we about to see 2 more go down in the next few days? Or perhaps the oxy clean guy wasn't a big enough celeb to count.

Honestly, I'd say he is more well known these days than Fawcett.

I feel the same way. I especially loved the ESPN 360.com commercials. Those made me laugh.

Exactly.

I was watching the news in my hotel room in MD when they were talking about when MJ and Fawcett died, and Fawcett had only a minute and they were going on and on and on about MJ like he was the best thing there was.

Is everyone just forgetting about David Carradine because his death was so embarrassing? He went first, right?

Yeah, but last weeks three was Ed Mcmahon, LJ and FF. This was big - he is very well known and I'm sure his presence will remain high on the cable networks.

That is more bc Fawcett's was no surprise at all.

Let's just be honest here, comparing MJ to Fawcett is like comparing the New England Patriots or Pittsburgh Steelers to the Detroit Lions. Actually it is probably more like comparing the Patriots or Steelers to the Liberty Flames football team in a world sense when it comes to popularity. MJ had sold nearly eight hundred thousand tickets to his England tour at 50-75 pounds a pop. Jackson was probably the greatest musician over the past 30 years. I'm not sure there is anyone even close.

Farrah's popularity in the 1970s-1980s was huge. Even Jonathan Falwell preached about having her poster when he was a kid.

Still not even on the same planet as MJ though in terms of popularity. I was a baby during Farrah's big days, so perhaps I'm under-evaluating her popularity, but Michael was still probably a top 10 world celebrity (I'd say top 5, because of he seems to still be REALLY popular in other countries) before his death. He broke all records for concert ticket sales when he announced his tour this past year. Farrah hasn't been in the top 100 celebrities in 20 years.
