ok, so online gaming isn't quite as physically intense as most sports and probably isn't funded by the school.. but is there some kind of gaming league at LU for the incoming nerds?

It's mainly called finding guys on your hall and playing with them. Most people play Halo all the freaking time.

I only play one video game and that is John Madden. I only play online. I don't like playing in person because your opponent can see your plays on the screen. Online you only get the package info like how many recievers and backs etc. Plus you can look at your play but the other guy can't see it. I am about 200 games above .500 with a 72% win percentage this season. I was ranked in the top 10,000 but I stopped playing people I didn't know and my friends bring my ranking down quite a bit. It is still fun to play though. timscar20 is my screen name if anyone wants to play me online sometime. Madden 07 will be out next month and then PS3 comes out at Christmas....I see guys playing video games in the student center all the time btw. I am sure the dorms are crawling with video gamers.

Yep, and I'm one of them.

Student Life sponsors a Halo tournamanet about every semester for students. However, I'm not aware of any LU specific clans for XBox Live.

I know nothing about video games and can't really contribute, but SCAR, SJ, HMO and others seem to be experts on the topic.

I've never played Madden 06. I just never got around to buying it. I played NCAA 06 all the time though. That, FIFA Soccer, and Tiger Woods are staples. I also loved MVP 05 (MLB) and the new MVP 06 (NCAA) baseball games. I can't stand Halo.

When I was gaming at LU we had LAN games of CounterStrike about every night. We had 20+ people every night. It was so fun. If somebody killed you, you could just run a couple doors down and punch them in the head. It was great. That game is probably outdated by now, but then again, Halo should be as well. I know the Big South sponsers a March Madness tournament. I've never entered though, becuase I can't stand playing bball games against human players. It's too easy to draw a charge and it annoys the heck out of me.

They play LAN games of Halo 2 all the time.

Ok, Medic thanks. haha I've always found time to play games, Sly. I've never been a fan of Halo or CS myself (especially CS:S). right now I'm playing Call of Duty 2 pretty heavy. Back in the day I was a hardcore (!) Soldier of Fortune 2 and COD1 player.
All the components to my new system are in the mail so I just don't want it to go to waste.

My only memory was the year I found a Sega Genesis under the Xmas tree...it was one of the happiest days of my life...I played so much Sonic on that thing...even beat Sonic and Knuckles on it and a couple other games
