He drinks his own urine in the episode. I guess that's better than drinking someone else's urine.

Are you kidding me? We're talking about the Discovery channel here. They'll squeeze it in about 50 more times between reruns of "Deadliest Catch". And on a side note, that's a show that I enjoyed for a while, but they have totally worn out the concept.

I used to enjoy the show but the deceit and the fact that the show has changed.( Less about survival and more about finding bear something gross to eat.)

Like the concept of the show but constantly find myself wondering "who's holding the camera?" and "if Bear nearly died sliding down the 100' ice ramp, how'd the camera guy get down there FIRST to film the whole thing?"

and MrsPA says my over-anylizing/cynacism ruins everything.

I think Man Vs Wild is pretty legit now. There have been a couple times where the camera man will yell at Bear to watch out b/c he see's a snake or something that could hurt him.

Oh yeah, I highly doubt they dont give Bear food b/c like you said you know they're eating something behind the camera! I just couldnt imagine trying to do everything he does while lugging around a Hi-Def camera

I thought it was a pretty good episode. I used to like the show until all of the true details about how it was staged came out.

No, I know the difference. I just find it hard to believe they are carrying around the same equipment. Video quality doesnt appear to be the same.

I don't believe it is the same equipement. Bear carries ( to my knowledge) a much smaller handheld camera. Surviorman has his camera attached to him somehow and isn't holding it.

They can make HD cameras pretty small these days, so I don't know why survivorman dude wouldn't catch on. Maybe he breaks a lot of them, or I guess with his approach, battery life is pretty important.

Survivor man has mulitple cameras because I've seen him setting up cameras and he's by himself. So obviously there has to be more than one. And he does almost all of his walking 3 times. He walks 100 yards, sets up the camera, walks back, and then walks back again to get it on film. Everything he does is really incredible because he's by himself and not everything is from the 1st person. His show sucks however because he's probably the most boring man on earth and he has an annoying Canadian accent. He's probably one of the few people in the world that could do what he does, which is what sucks for Discovery. They probably feel the same way about him as Subway feels about personalityless Jared Fogle. They're stuck with him.

You guys are way too harsh. It's a tv show. It is what it is. Entertainment. Last time I checked I haven't seen any of your exceptional personalities on tv. (except for Scar) If you hate it so much, don't watch.

The episode is on again tonight at 9 (opposite the NBA finals). I'll be flipping channels.
