...is no more.
CBS has canceled long-running Sunday night military action-drama "The Unit"...

“The Unit,” which ended production April 7, has been on the bubble every season since its launch. The David Mamet-created drama registers 9 million to 11 million viewers, as it has throughout its run. That’s a respectable figure, but only a third of those are younger than 49, a demographic that CBS needs to court. The drama also picks up 1.4 million viewers each week from DVR use.

“The Unit” audience, which has a median age of 54.6, still has some appeal to advertisers: 25% of its viewers have graduated from college, 35% earn income above $75,000, and 21% make $100,000 or more, according to Nielsen data provided by CBS.
That sucks. I really liked that show.

I can't believe Nielsen is still a credible source of statistical analysis. I've only known one person in my entire life who was a Nielsen tracker. I would think cable, satellite, Tivo, and the individual websites would be able to better capture viewing data than the Nielsen ratings. I just don't get why they still use it.

I can't buy the allstate guy in any role. I always think he's going to try to sell me insurance.

I have no faith in TV anymore. Bones got a two year extension, but Love Monkey was killed after two episodes. People have no taste in TV.

He was great as David Palmer in 24.

I liked this show but CBS jacked their time slot around so often that I haven't seen it in months.

It's been Sundays at ten (a terrible time slot) for a couple of years.

I meant that CBS jacked around with their particular time slot. Sundays at 10 gets bumped around for every CBS awards show and every time the NFL runs long.
