Proper Economic Stimulous

I just figured out yesterday that me being bald is a huge economic savings to my family.

I have been bald for about 10 years. That means at a rate of 1 hair cut a month, I have missed 120 haircuts. If you pick a modest cost of $12 per cut (which is hard to find now), that means I've saved $1,440 plus tips. Then you add in the savings for not needing: Shampoo, gel/hair spray, combs, brushes, hair dreyers, etc and it adds up.

My only cost is Barbasol Shaving Cream once every 2 or 3 months (like $2.50), and replacement blades for my headblade razor (about 1 every month, I get 10 Gelette Atra's for like $4). My headblade razor was $12 5 years ago when my original one was dropped and broken.

So, my point is, if you want to save money, ditch the hair. If you have nice hair you may want to think twice, but my hair was always garbage.

check ebay for everyday items. There are lots of folks who can get bulk at wholesale and just sell them on ebay. And because so many people do this, the price drops.

example: always always always buy razors off of ebay.

I don't use Ebay that much. You're saving 10 dollars for razors that will last 3-4 months. Is it worth the hassle? I don't see it being worth it.

Glad you like being bald...but I'm keeping my locks as long as possible, and am not going through the hassle of eBay or razors.

You can get twice as many razors (sometimes more) for about the same price you'd pay in the stores. Definitely worth it, especially since I go through about four blades in a month. Going to a store is more hassle to me than having them delivered, especially if it's cheaper. Great tip LUConn.

how is ebay a hassle? In the auction that I posted, it's "buy it now", which means you purchase it immediately for that price. And it had free shipping.

Even if it was a hassle, it's $10. I think you're underestimating what else you can do with $10.

In this instance, if I were to buy from a store all I would do is walk down the aisle that has the razors and add them to the rest of my order. If buying online, I would have to wait on them to arrive, and hope that I don't get screwed. Is that worth $10 to me? I don't know.

Like I said, I don't use ebay that much so I realize I probably have a higher perception of the odds of getting screwed than really exists.

As for the $10, thanks you just reminded me to cancel my subscription to the sportspack from DirecTV now that there will be no more sports worth watching until August.

I just did the same thing last night. The Sports Pack is worth it during LU's in-season (saw just about every home football and basketball game, which is still not enough but will have to do). However, in the off season, the deal is worthless.
