Wow... just wow... That painting makes me so mad. For people to actually think it is alright to do that I mean comparing Obama to Jesus? Our country seriously has some big issues.

I think it's meant as satire.

Ya your probably right, but I mean the painter didn't necessarily refer to it as a satire though. Although that makes sense.

He's an artist. He left it's meaning up to you to interpret. If you want it to be satire, it's satire.

Is this the most b.s. explanation ever?
But the principal reason reporters remained in their seats, he said, was not to block the shot of TV cameramen and still photographers in the back of the room who were trying to make a picture of the president’s walk-in.

No disrespect was intended for President Bush and to the best of my knowledge none was taken.

In addition, it only takes about three steps for the president to reach the lectern from the press room door. He’d be ready to begin and many reporters would barely be out of their seats, which used to be further complicated by swivel desks that had to be shifted out of the way.

When some reporters stood up for President Obama last Friday, they forgot about the needs of their colleagues in the back of the room as well as the less formal atmosphere of the briefing room. Certainly it was a sign of respect for the president, but not one of disrespect for his predecessor.

It was President Obama’s first time at the briefing room lectern since taking office and for some new members of the White House Press, it was their first time seeing a president enter the room as well.

Perhaps, but it seems an odd comparison when President Bush gave many press conferences and Obama has had only one so far, according to the quote. Is it known that nobody ever stood for Bush, even at the beginning of his presidency? Has it been stated that standing for President Obama will become standard procedure?

It's so disrespectful that the media won't get out of the way of the cameras for Obama. When Bush came out they were practically diving out of the way so they didn't get in the shot. The double standard is ridiculous.

Obama has given only one press conference, and the people in the room had never seen a president in person before? Hah! The guy is a press queen. Maybe they all stood up to block his view of the teleprompter to finally get a real quote from the guy.

No, you're right in the sense that I don't know if the press stood for Bush early on in his presidency. They could have. I just think the, 'we wanted to give cameras a good shot with Bush, but we forgot about that for Obama' explanation is b.s.

Still, if you were going to document instances of the media being in the tank for Obama, I don't think you'd start (or end) on this instance. I would, however, start with Joe Biden. The treatment of him, compared to the treatment of Sarah Palin, is downright sad.

Look at it this way... Joe Biden's daughter was filmed doing a line of cocaine. That story fizzled in seconds. Sarah Palin's daughter had a kid with her boyfriend... and that story still hasn't gone away. Larry King even asked the boyfriend about where they had sex. And yet Joe Biden's daughter gets a free pass.
