Is it known that nobody ever stood for Bush, even at the beginning of his presidency? Has it been stated that standing for President Obama will become standard procedure?
No, you're right in the sense that I don't know if the press stood for Bush early on in his presidency. They could have. I just think the, 'we wanted to give cameras a good shot with Bush, but we forgot about that for Obama' explanation is b.s.
Still, if you were going to document instances of the media being in the tank for Obama, I don't think you'd start (or end) on this instance. I would, however, start with Joe Biden. The treatment of him, compared to the treatment of Sarah Palin, is downright sad.
Look at it this way... Joe Biden's daughter was filmed doing a line of cocaine. That story fizzled in seconds. Sarah Palin's daughter had a kid with her boyfriend... and that story still hasn't gone away. Larry King even asked the boyfriend about where they had sex. And yet Joe Biden's daughter gets a free pass.
