Does Wikipedia ever suck you in?

Here's how I spent my last hour and half thanks to LUconn:
Started at abandoned parks
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ab ... th_America
went from there to list of ghost towns:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ghost_towns
Went from there to list of ghost towns in VA and saw one for up in Williamsburg then found out that this is now where the CIA train at "The Farm" that you hear about in movies and stuff
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_Peary ... War_II_use
Then went from there to reading about the elite of the elite who are hand picked from the SEALS, RANGERS and others that make up the SAD who are pretty much like Jason Bourne trained to escape any situation, disguises and foreign languages.
so anyways that was my last hour and half...

...and you expanded your knowledge base while you were at it, right?

of course...i learned a lot. I always figured that people like Jason Bourne are out there, just never knew with who or what. This answered all of that. Here is their training list:
Paramilitary Operations Officers are trained to a level of high proficiency in the use and tactics of an unusually wide degree of modern weaponry, explosive devices and firearms (foreign and domestic), hand to hand combat, high performance driving (on- and off-road), apprehension avoidance (including picking handcuffs and escaping from confinement), improvised explosive devices, Military Free Fall parachuting, combat and commercial SCUBA and closed circuit diving, small and in some cases large boat handling, foreign languages, hasty and detailed disguises, entry operations and vehicle "hotwiring", Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE), extreme survival and wilderness training, first responder combat EMS medical training, tactical communications and tracking. These are just some of the skill sets required of these Paramilitary Operations Officers. [48]

I get sucked in. Sometimes a random thought will pop into my head, and I want to learn more, so I waste time looking it up on wiki while I'm supposed to be working. And of course, while reading on whatever subject has my interest at the time, it's so easy to go off on all these little rabbit trails. Now I try to print out whatever it is and save it for a bathroom break.

Yeah... one Saturday afternoon, when my parents were away and I was a senior in high school, I was reading encyclopedias and I couldn't stop. At some point, a blonde girl who was a sophomore walked in to my living room.
Completely baffled (and somewhat intrigued), I asked her what she was doing, she said she was looking for my little brother. Apparently, while I was reading the encyclopedia, my younger brother invited a bunch of friends over for a pool party. There were like ten of them... and I had no idea.
So yeah. My younger brother threw a party, and had a great time... but did he know anything about the Mausoleum at Hallicarnasus?
Didn't think so.

Yes but if he asked you about boobs the only thing you could have told him was what was in the encyclopedia while he's telling you about all the ones at the pool party...

It was just the latest in a long string of me-not-knowing-about-the-cool-parties-in-high-school.
