So summer is getting closer and its about that time i start looking to see if anything great is coming out to watch. Feel free to add to this list i don't care, i just figured this draws me away from other less than exciting topics. Plus everyone enjoys a good trailer every now and then. These are not all movies id like, but just the ones i picked with a quick glance on imdb.com that might be of interest to this crowd.
Ive listed some actors in a few of the not so obvious titles:
Observe and Report - Seth Rogan – Apr 10th
State of Play – Russell Crowe, Rachael McAdams, Ben Affleck – Apr 17th
Crank – High Voltage – Jason Statham – April 17th
The Soloist – Jamie Foxx, Robert Downey Jr. – April 24th
Mutant Chronicles – Thomas Jane, Ron Perlman – April 24th
X-Men – Wolverine – Hugh Jackman – May 1st
Star Trek – May 8th
Angels and Demons – May 15th
Terminator Salvation – May 21st
Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 – June 12th ( Denzel, Travolta )
Transformers – Revenge of the fallen – June 24th
Public Enemies – Christian Bale, Johnny Depp – July 1st
Hairy Pooper – July 17th
Funny People – Adam Sandler – July 31st
G. I. Joe – The Rise of Cobra – August 7th
Inglourious Bastards – Tarantino – August 21st
Surrogates – Bruce Willis - Sept 25th
Shutter Island – Martin Scorsese - Oct 2nd
Couples Retreat – Vince Vaughn – Oct 9th
Where the wild things are – Oct 16th
The Wolf Man – Del toro, Hopkins – Nov 6th

I can say unequivocally that I will not be seeing Observe and Report (I've heard it's the worst movie Rogan's done to date) or the new Crank (the first one was awful). Most of the others show some promise, although I never did get into the X-Men films.
BTW...
Johnny Deep
...sounds like a porn star name.

From this list I'm going with Observe and Report, The Soloist, Angels and Demons and Inglourious Basterds (Tarantino's spelling).

I'm looking forward to seeing Observe & Report and Angels & Demons. I'm not really interested in seeing many of the others on that list, although I will inevitably see the ones my wife wants to see...

As one might imagine, August 7th has been circled on my calendar for a long time.

Observe and Report
X-Men – Wolverine
Star Trek
Terminator Salvation
Taking of Pelham 1 2 3
Transformers – Revenge of the fallen
Inglourious Basterds
All look good. Probably will only see a couple in theater and wait for the rest to come out on dvd.
I never liked Star Trek ever. But this one looks freakin sweet.

Wolverine definitely, Star Trek (or 'Dawson's Creek: Deep Space Nine') depending on the reviews, maybe Terminator, GI Joe depending on reviews (can you believe that Cobra Commander is being played by the same kid who was in '3rd rock from the sun'?) and definitely 'where the wild things are'.
I can't stand Seth Rogan. He's more annoying than funny. I seriously think I'd go crazy if I were trapped in a room with him, Carlos Mencia, and Dane Cook. I just want to punch them all.
(Now if I was trapped in a room with Rachel McAdams....)

You sure you're not thinking of Joe Rogan from Fear Factor? The only reason I ask is because Joe Rogan is known for ripping into Carlos Mencia (Ned Holness) and Dane Cook for being joke thieves.

Nope, I'm sure he's thinking of Seth Rogen. I would be.
This clip explains it better than I ever could.

Seth Rogan was funny in 40 Year Old Virgin. Then I actually liked him in Knocked Up. I haven't really liked him in anything else. It's the same role in every movie. I'm to the point now where if I see he's in a movie, or anyone from that whole crew really, on't even consider watching it.

I didn't see 40-year-old Virgin (too biographical); and Knocked Up was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. He was just annoying, and I hate how he's like one of the 'hottest commodities in Hollywood'.
After reflection, I do hate Dane Cook more.

Joe Rogan is the reason why I hate Dane Cook and Carlos Mencia, precisely because they are joke thieves (not only that, they take funny material and ruin it!) So yeah, Joe Rogan is okay in my book. Seth Rogen is annoying and over-exposed.

Oh, ok, I just wanted to make sure. Joe Rogan is also part of the reason I hate Dand Cook and Carlos Mencia as well. That and the fact that they are both extremely annoying. I do, however, think Seth Rogan is funny. To each his own.

Terminator: Salvation just got its rating...
PG-13.
Which basically means it's going to suck.
The producers of the movie should've asked 'Die Hard IV' if it's okay to water down a movie in order to get a PG-13 rating...

Wolverine for SURE!
Crank, most likely. i like Jason Statham
Terminator i'll probably have to see b/c my buddy chris is in it.
(probably for all of 30 sec, but its the general principle of the thing... i mean he's FINALLY in a semi-legit movie with speaking lines. i mean, he was in the replacements too, but then he got cut in the final edit - we give him crap that he got replaced in the replacements...lol)
inglorious bastards - um yes. its quentin... how can you NOT watch it?
not sure what state of play is.
mutant chronicles? dunno what that it.
star trek...hmm... depends on the trailer.
dunno on angels and demons. might be fun.
Taking of Pelham - possibly, i like denzel and travolta
Transformers.. um YES. Megan Fox...need i say more? i submit that i do NOT!
public enemies - most likely (dunno what its even about yet but christian bale and johnny depp are just to good to not see)
GI Joe... Go Joe!
we'll see about the others.

State of Play I'm going to see, probably while I'm down at the conference tournament. The rest, I dunno.

Star Trek and Wolverine are definite for me. I didn't know they were making Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 into a movie -- I read the book repeatedly when I was a kid (I never read kids books, really, except for a few mysteries). Taking of Pelham is an amazing story, and there's a lot of potential there if they don't mess it up, so I'll probably go see that one.
Mutant Chronicles looks promising, as does Public Enemies (Johnny Depp as Dillinger?! Awesome!).

They're actually
re-making Pelham 1 2 3. It was originally made into a movie sometime back in the 70's.

That's right -- Walter Matthau was in it. I remember now (even though I never saw it back then). Wonder if they'll re-release the book.
I read the book probably late 70's/early 80s; I don't remember exactly, but I remember reading it multiple times. I just watched the trailer, and it looks great.

I am far from a Trekkie (although I had a cool phaser and communicator back in the '70s) but Star Trek is the only trailer outside of Up! that has intrigued me thus far.

I've been Netflix'ing my way through the first 10 Star Trek films to get prepped for the new one. I was a TNG fan, but otherwise not much of a Trekkie. I'm also wondering if my background watching will be completely pointless since Abrams has said he was never much of a fan and wanted the movie to stand on it's own.
On the other hand, people seem to like it after the first (surprise) screening in Austin: <a href="

I have no other plans to enter a theater this year. I find the movie-viewing experience at home to be far superior.

Except when you go see Batman with me in Winston.
