bah- everyone over the age of 30 likes ELO.
the girl from American Idol- Kelly whatsherface. I have 3 of her songs on my mp3 player. Don't know the words, or the song titles for that matter- but she has a good voice.
Also, Pink (hometown girl from the burbs despite her claims to be "from Philly") and Gwen Stefani. Same reasons for both of these as Idol-girl.
I feel better now.
3 Hail Mary's and I'm good to go.

Destiny's Child - Bills, Bills, Bills. I don't know why I love that song. "Can you pay my telephone bills, can you pay my automobills..."

I'm 38 and can't stand ELO. I listened to country during the disco era.
And THAT is the song or artist I'm ashamed to admit that I like. Old-school, pure 100% redneck country music. With lyrics like
Last night I broke the seal on a Jim Beam decanter
That looks like Elvis
I soaked the label off a Flintstone Jelly Bean jar
I cleared us off a place on that
One little table that you left us
And pulled me up a big ole piece of floor
I pulled the head off Elvis
Filled Fred up to his pelvis
Yabba Dabba Doo, the King is gone
And so are you
That's George Jones, folks. Only George Jones and Cletus T. Judd can get away with something like that in country music.
Fortunately.

I'm 31 and I've never heard ELO's music. My senior roommate and I were/are metalheads and he used to tease me about liking Metallica's Black album. Oh, and Depeche Mode.

I've never been a huge Metallica fan-ah. They never did much for me-ah. Maybe it's because every line ended with ah, like a preacher-ah.
I'm a huge 90's rock fan. Third Eye Blind, The Wallflowers, Sublime, Fuel, Everclear, Bush, etc.

Bush is the best one of all of those that you mentioned, machinehead!!!!

I've always been a fan of '80s arena rock from the days of Journey & REO Speedwagon up through the hair bands of the end of the decade. So what if I like a little schmaltz & harmony in my music? I;m seeing someone about it and I'm feeling MUCH better now.

I was hoping you were referencing Machinehead, one of the first great metal bands and the subject of the only funny line in the 1994 movie "Airheads".

Chicago 17 and Chicago 18 were two of my favorite tapes. I have a few songs on my Nano from Chicago. Also Cold Play. I hesitate to put this on here since SJ has already single handedly revoked my ghetto card by saying on facebook that GMTM was more black than me

Believe me I have enough Wu Tang, Biggie and Jay -Z to keep my pass in tact though.

I like the song "Fix You" "Clocks" "Scientist" and a few others by Cold Play. I am only exposed to them thanks to Tivo. I watched their Vh1 Story Tellers and I was really entertained.
