American soccer

This is just hypothetical, that's why I put it here instead of the Non-LU sports forum.
Everyone says that America will never be great at soccer because our best athletes don't play soccer. With that being said, if we had our best athletes playing soccer, who would play where?
I'm saying Shawn Marion would be a keeper. Yes, I stole that from Bill Simmons but he's right. The man's 6'9 with a huge wing span and can jump like crazy. Nothing's getting by him.
Michael Vick at midfield. He's quick enough and shifty enough, let him dance through a crowd of people.
Terrell Owens or Randy Moss at forward. They're tall, fast, and can jump. Send in a cross to them and let them jump and head it in. LeBron and Vince Carter would work here too.

Traitor. I thought you were American.
And I admit that while I somewhat enjoyed the World Cup final today, I'm still not down with professional soccer in general.

I pull for America first in everything and Italy second. The second the US was done, I was strictly an Italian fan. That side of my heritage is something I'm actually pretty proud of.

Today I was able to connect some dots while stacking my Sports Sunday show. My great grandfather Francesco Alberto Sante Mingori immigrated from Italy to America where he eventually was buried in Lemont, Illinois (site of today's PGA Western Open). Interestingly enough, he came here and married my French immigrant great grandmother.
BTW Zinadine is a pompous punk.

Wait, I like the idea of sticking our best out on the soccer field. How about Tom Hanks at head coach...he has won a couple of Oscars and could teach our guys how to act like they have been killed on the field. That would at least give us a chance against teams like Italy and France who have set the acting bar quite high.
America's soccer coach......

Should be Vlade Divac.....a great flopper and maybe we can recruit some international players here instead of the sub-par, slow, weenies who took the field for us this year.

Any pro hockey player could out-act the French or Italian 'football' teams.
