Get off Obama's back!

Geesh. The poor guy can't have a drink at a basketball game without catching heat from it. Now he fills out a bracket and Coach K is giving him grief. The last I heard, Obama is still a citizen and why not enjoy some aspects of life to keep some sort of normalcy. Give the guy a break, regardless of what is thought about his politics.
Barack Obama picked North Carolina to defeat Louisville for the NCAA championship, a relatively safe selection for a trailblazing president.

Obama spent part of Tuesday making his tournament picks for ESPN, which posted his completed bracket online Wednesday and showed the First Fan filling it out with Andy Katz on the noon edition of "Sportscenter."

Of course, the president's choice drew a reaction from the Tar Heels' most intense rival.

"Somebody said that we're not in President Obama's Final Four, and as much as I respect what he's doing, really, the economy is something that he should focus on, probably more than the brackets," Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said from the Blue Devils' first-round site in Greensboro, N.C.

are you serious or joking?? because seriously presidents do this kind of thing all of the time...all the conservative media outlets are jumping all over this crap...I think obama is doing a pretty crappy job...but I could care less if he is filling out a bracket on tv or going to a game and having a beer...these conservative outlets crack me up, because they are getting upset over the dumbest things...focus on the crap policy he is putting into action...this other crap is just childish

If you were really familiar with all the conservative media outlets then you would know that this is a VERY minor issue and one just to bring a little humor into all the serious policy issues that are being discussed. You just like being the contrarian to the conservative "bias" you see in some places.

I disagree and think it is BRILLIANT PR. It shows that he is no different than the rest of us this time of year and puts him "in touch" with "we the people."

see that is what i thought when i saw it...I can't stand the guy, but he does a great job making people think he is just like everybody else...he even smokes!

this is why I don't think people should even talk about this crap, i think it shines a more positive light on obama...I don't think the comparison to a big company is a good comparison

It show's he's not focused on doing his job. the job he isn't doing a very good job at IMO.

Wow.......what's next?....Obama takes too long in the can?.....drinks milk from the carton?....sleeps more than 8 hours at night???

Everyone knows he loves basketball, as evidenced by him playing pick-up ball with the Heels during his campaign. He's a basketball fan, that filled out a bracket. There is no story here. Big freakin' deal.

You can't be serious. There's no way you actually thought through that statement.

So, as president, he has to be doing "presidential" things from the second he wakes up to the time he goes to bed. I guess he can't spend some time with his kids.

His job is to put people in place to do the "every day" things. They're the ones going about and doing the things he wants to get done. He doesn't have to do every tiny little thing.

The people complaining that he should be working instead of doing things like this obviously don't know what goes into being the president.

Maybe thats the problem...I know when I get into something over my head I think I can buy my way out of it and hire someone who can fix it....and he's spent trillions of dollars...he is like me! Just at another level!

I guess the term being "presidential" just doesnt apply anymore or it does but it means "just like you, even just as smart"

If JFK lived in the ESPN era, you can bet he would've been on tv posting his bracket.

Except he wasn't spending time with his kids, he was spending time at a photo op. I guarantee that filling out his bracket took a lot more time out of his day than mine did.

So should Bush have not taken time to read to those kids in Florida on 9/11 and instead be in Washington being presidential? What would it have changed? I know that's a leap, but it's what people are equating it to to an extent.

I don't want a President in touch with the people. I want him to solve problems. If I wanted to watch someone yuk it up with Leno, I'll tune in when Brangelina are on.

JFK always used his kids as props...esp when Jackie was away...as she always tried to shield them from the public eye.

Wasnt he already there when he heard about it? Im pretty sure he was...

That's what I'm saying. Even if he was in Washington being presidential, it still would've happened.

The way our government is set up is that the president can't do anything on his own. He can put forth what he wants to do as policies and what laws he wants to do, but it takes people to get it done.

Politics isn't about reality, it's about perception. If it were about reality, Congressmen wouldn't have the balls to complain about AIG wasting money.

The Obama administration has been in a self-described "crisis mode" since they took office and if Bush had been reading to those kids on 9/12 I'd be saying the same thing about him. Whether or not Obama takes time out to fill a bracket is irrelevant. What's relevant is the fact that he took time out from the crisis to do it in public.
