Austin is awesome. But then again, I spent 8 years living there and left only for family purposes.

You've got to be kidding, right? I guess the cost of living keeps it in check to an extent. I prefer Colorado Springs myself.

For the record:

60% Miami

55% Austin

55% Chicago

55% Seattle

50% Atlanta

I could see myself in Miami, Austin (hey, I really would've never left there if it weren't for my kids) or Seattle. Chicago is ridiculously cold but it is a cool city I don't mind visiting in the spring or summer. Atlanta does practically nothing for me. To me it is a more expensive version of Houston.

I don't like the options, so I'm not doing it. Hmph.

Besides, I already know the Triangle area is my ideal. :)

Well my number one is where I want to move anyways!! The rest, not so sure. Hawaii is too expensive, Atlanta not really excited about. Seattle is too wet so that leaves Austin and VEGAS baby! Would love to move Swest some time.

smoothie - Austin is like the Triangle but with better cost of living and better cultural opportunities. Oh yeah, the weather's alittle better as well. That's nto meant to diss the Triangle, just give you an idea of how cool Austin really is.

Was this whole thing put together by the Austin/Denver/Miami/Seattle Chamber of Commerce? Even when I chose the Northeast region, it just rearranged the same four cities.

Those are the hot cities as far as relocation goes. All of those cities are growing like crazy while the rust belt and upper Atlantic seaboard are treading water.

so is the triangle. all the publications list it as a top 5-10 area to live in. i will trust those publications and the fact i lived there, instead of some web quiz

who cares  austin is a great place to live, and if i lived in the southwest part of the country, it would be a top choice. the thing is sly, you texas homers think that your state is THE only place to live, and in reality their are other places just as good.
