I know CCM is not a big favorite around here, but LU's own Mike Tait is apparently joining the Newsboys. At least that's what I am hearing down here in Houston. Is this public knowledge?

That would be an interesting blend of style.

This just seems wrong to me.

ok..all I am hearing is Tait is doing some background vocals on a new cd of theirs...which makes a whole lot more sense to me

Tait kinda looks Australian. He'd fit in.

Phil is going solo so Mike is the new front man.

It gives me the same feeling as if Jeter was to retire for a few years and come back for the Red Sox

plus Tait doesn't really mesh well with the newsboys in my opinion...

why didn't they just call it quits like they should've years ago

I know this isnt like Newsong where nobody knows the front men until they go solo and fail....




...i kid i kid CB has done VERY well and I think a few others have too...but seriously everyone knows what Phil looks like and sounds like...this is just a whole new group

Maybe Tait will get Toby Mac to join Newsboys, and together they can get Kevin Max to join. Maybe this is all a plan to phase out Newsboys and reunite dcTalk.

I think it's funny he was here at homecoming saying how his new album was gonna be great and was gonna be a top 40 radio vibe about love and Jesus and all this and now he's the lead singer of Newsboys.

I sounds to me like Tait is going to be filling in for the rest of this tour. Not sure about his continued presence with the band.

After 22 years and more than 2000 shows, newsboys frontman Peter Furler will no longer front the band in concert. Michael Tait will be touring with the band as lead singer with Peter making special appearances throughout the year.

Peter will continue with the band and his trademark songwriting and production will remain as he focuses his professional career toward future newsboys recordings.

This isnt for 1 year they are only using this year to make the transition smooth...they plan on making albums with Tait

yeah, their new album will only have Tait doing background vocals which is why I had said what I said earlier about background vocals...Peter will be doing the singing on the album...

its just odd to me...I still think they should of just broken up
