TGFFRT: (3) Applebee's v. (4) Chick-Fil-A (Elite 8)

Traditional sit down American food against the place that invented the chicken sandwich. Which one goes to the Final Four?

So which do you think, overall, is a better place to eat?

Take into consideration:

Value
Taste
Atmosphere
Service

and anything else that would make a place a more desirable eating destination.

The fries are hit-or-miss. Sometimes they're too starchy and soggy, but they're okay when you load 'em up with ketchup. If you can get them thin, crispy and salty, you're in good shape. But that's only half the time.

Talk about a mis-seeding. This is domination.

I still do not understand why so many people around here love chic-fil-a...just because its run by a Christian guy does not mean all Christians must love it...

ok end of rant

I don't think anybody here cares that it's run by a Christian guy.

Love the Boneless Wings and Steak Quesadilla Towers at Applebee's but I had to go for CFA. Good chicken sandwich + Good Fries + Awesome milkshakes + Honey Mustard, Buttermilk Ranch and the CFA sauces.

As much as I like Applebee's I went with CFA. Good food, very personable people, closed on Sundays and Truett Cathy is an amazing guy to talk to.

Most of the Chic Flikas out here are owned by Mormons.

even if you put it that way...which I disagree with...its better then soggy waffle fries and a dried out piece of chicken that I have to smother in polynesian sauce just for it to pass off as food...

I have never had a dry peice of chicken from Chick-Fil-A. Even the Chick-Fil-A I get on campus that's obviously been sitting in a hot box for an hour is still juicy.

I guess for your standards, Gushers are borderline not juicy enough, eh? :)

this is what everybody says to me...and maybe its just bad luck...but everytime I go it is dry...

but the reason why I kept going back once a year was because I would finally cave in to somebody telling me I was dead wrong so I would see for myself and then leave still feeling the same way...

oh well...

Having had both in the last week I will offer some commentary:

Ive never found anything that I had at Chick-Fil-A to ever be dry. Now to postie, Im sorry that your experiences with them have not been very positive. I do hope you at least have one positive experience with them.

To RubberMallet: Im sorry for your general hatred of Applebee's. I go there from time to time and I have not found the food to be of the quality you describe. I had a steak last Thursday when I visited for the Flames Hotline and it was cooked to my liking and quite delicious...not a hint of shoe leather to be had. I ended up voting for CFA for the reasons indicated in my previous post but Ive never had a bad experience with either of these two.
