A Sea Of Red

My sister clicked on this popup/virus on her laptop. I was wondering if any of you out there have dealt with this before...how did you remove it? Did you have to completely restart your system over with the recovery disks? (seeming like the best option)

I have tried to do just a system restore to an earlier date, but it does not allow me...competes it, then says that the restore can not be completed.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Oh..and Scorcho..a Mac is not an option

have you tried booting into safe mode then doing system restore? if that doesn't work, when you turn the computer on press F8 and then choose something like "...last known good configuration" I may not be correct on the F8 key, but i'm pretty sure that's the right one...

I did find that Mallet....and so far...seems to have done the trick
