TGFFRT: Pizza Hut v. Cracker Barrel (Opening Round)

This is the first opening round matchup to get underway... and it's a couple of well known powerhouses.

So which do you think, overall, is a better place to eat? The old country store, or the tried and true pizza joint?

Take into consideration:

Value
Taste
Atmohsphere
Service

and anything else that would make a place a more desirable eating destination.

So, which do you pick?

I went with Pizza Hut because of their supreme pan pizza. The breadsticks are pretty good too. I like Cracker Barrel for breakfast but that's it. Neither are great to me but Pizza Hut gets the nod.

I use to love Pizza Hut...and maybe its because I have been in Lynchburg for too long and don't think I have ever had good Pizza Hut pizze here...but it just is not good....Cracker Barrel is very good...and now that I think about it, I haven't been there in forever

pizza hut is the grossest pizza out there....now they are throwing these asinine commercials out where they are supposedly tricking people in 5 star italian eateries that what they really ate was pizza hut....i realize there are alot of stupid people but are they really expecting us to believe this? \

cracker barrell hands down...

the hut wins. cracker barrel for anything but breakfast just never hit the spot for me... and even breakfast wasn't mind blowing. the hut has good stix, and tops the list of quick, affordable, good food.

Although I ate a the El Paso Pizza Hunt on my honeymoon (A long story), I've got to vote for Cracker Barrel--as good as their breakfasts are, their catfish is even better. And they even serve CIDER in a frosted mug!

we should find out who voted for pizza hut and null/void the rest of their votes.

This is the biggest landslide in the first round. Pizza Hut doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Cracker Barrel.

They got a real tough draw. I think Pizza Hut is pretty underrated because it's such a large chain but Cracker Barrel is just on another level AND is fairly cheap.

I go with Pizza Hut b/c the pizza is good. And, where I live, Cracker Barrel takes FOREVER to get your food to you, and its not the best tasting food at that!

Is this a 16 - 1 matchup? Cracker Barrel HANDSDOWN!!

It's an opening round "play-in game" matchup....

so it looks like Pizza Hut is the team that just barely snuck in with a losing record.

went to cracker barrel with the parents, brother, and both sets of grandparents once for dinner. my food was deplorably nasty and no one else in the party liked anything they got either. so my vote goes to pizza hut, never really had anything there that I would consider deplorably nasty and have had several good edibles.

Pizza hut is it. I ate at Cracker Barrel and ended up in the ER. I vowed never to eat there again and I have not nor will I ever.

What the heck are you guys ordering at cracker barrel that is so bad? Dumplings catfish breakfast cornbread. All are superb.

I think those guys that got sick must have eaten the plastic pegs that go into the triangle game.

Cracker Barrel easy, and you can order breakfast anytime, so why order anything else ever?

The Barrel is multi-dimensional going from breakfast to dinner. And my kids love those little wooden games that they would never touch at their own home.

That's the key to this matchup. Pizza Hut should be open for breakfast if they want to compete with CB.

Plus you get to "shop" (IOW look at, play with, and put back) all the nifty junk that CB "sells" (IOW buys and writes off as a loss at the end of the year).

I like CB because you can get a breakfast so big it comes on three plates. I think they call it the Lard Butt Special (and no, they didn't name it after me).

I love pizza, but not from the Hut. Cracker wins hands down.
