Most of you guys know these two professors... but Dr. Troxel and Mr. Pickering will no longer be teaching in the department, Dr.T just took a job down in NC and Mr. Pickering retired...

I knew Pick was leaving but was unaware of Troxel. So it looks like they'll be bringing in some new blood.

Doc Troc was the best teacher I ever had. I can't think of any other teacher at this school who, at least in 1996, would have let me use White Zombie music for a class project. I still get a giggle over that one.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Troxel. He will be very missed around LU.

Well I know of one that would have let you in 2000 - 2003. I used to have "Boring Lecture Day" (especially during Law) I would play music in the back ground while I lectured. That way if they zoned out, they would hate the music so much they would return their attention to the lecture. Based on the GPA of the class it worked fairly well!!

I come back from vacation and Dr. Troxel is leaving? Jr. T is definitely gonna hear it for not callin and telling me (though the family isn't moving...Dr. T is director of media at Village Baptist in Fayetteville, wife Rosie will be down there 3 times a week and he'll be coming up one weekend a month). Mr. Pickering I've known about for some time now...I used Def Leppard for my class project in his class.

I thought Troxel was a lifer as well. I am sad to also hear Pickering is retiring. I enjoyed his classes. I wish them the best.

Dr. T was definately a one of those professors that the school will miss ... he was my advisor and favorite teacher as well. He is going to Fayettville, NC to work as some program director at a church ... I think all of us COMS majors have some great story about Dr. T ... outside of his sense of humor and willingness to help, I know something else that will be missed as well ... Mrs. T's chocolate chip cookies. Anybody else ever have them? WOW

Yes Flames, Mrs. T's cookies are quite wonderful...

Just found out about Trox. I was sad about Pickering too; I saw him at graduation and wish I'd said something to him, but it wasn't until after graduation that I found out he'd left. LU just lost two of their best professors. I wouldn't be surprised if Henrich was the next to go.
