A new word

I live in the sticks and don't have cable. As such, my wife and I were flipping around our 4 channels last night and ended up watching "America's Got Talent" which is basically a glorified gong show. Anyway, as we're watching the show, we decided to add a word to the lexicon that denotes a person or concept that is "earnest, well-intentioned and yet unwittingly and unequivocally lame."

And that word is ---- Hasselhoff.

Allow me to use it in a sentence: "When my 80-year old grandmother got up and did the 'running man' at my sister's wedding reception, it was just so Hasselhoff."

Another: "My girlfriend wrote me a song for my birthday. I love her but it was really Hasselhoff."

One more: "Coastal Carolina's attempts at academic credibility are best described as Hasselhoff."

I knew I could drag some of the Coastal lurkers out of the woodwork! Go, me!!

Incidentally, Guest -- if that it is your real name -- those extra 29 SAT points don't seem to be helping your grammar skills at all. I'll give you the GPA but only under protest because I really don't think the Drink Mixing major should be factored into the equation.

first- I don't even want to know how you found that, or why you were looking to begin with,

second- I captured part of that debacle as a screen shot so EVERYONE can see how awful it is without sitting thru it.

BTW- that looks like the "real" KIT

I actually appeared briefly in the Early '90s TV movie 'Knight Rider 2000'. They were filming in San Antonio & Corpus Christi when I was working down in South Texas. I was cast as a polic officer for some action scenes where I rode along with some stunt drivers. It was actually one of the coolest things I've ever done. DH was filming with the 1st Unit so I wasn't actually in any scenes with him ... just his stunt double.

And there you have my entire filmography (as if you really ever cared). But I am appearing in an add for Toyota Maximas later this month in national publications. I'f I can find an online image I'll post the link when it hits the newsstands.

important question here- did you get your SAG card?

and if you can post the Maxima ad, we oughta be able to post the Myspace pic!

I do not have my SAG card but my agent is SAG-affiliated and both my wife & I do collect SAG residuals for commercial work. Although this print job for Toyota was non-union. It all helps keep the mortgage payments going out on time.

I believe it is Toyota Camry Sly. You confused me though because I drive a Toyota Camry and a Nissan Maxima and I had this mental picture of both our cars blended together. Not a pretty picture.

Probably The Hoff's song.

Its a Nissan Maxima ad. And my "acting" is nothing to be excited about.

The Hoff. That' just embarassing. On what planet besides Germanitron is this considered cool. He's 54 for God's sake and he's not aging well! One of his eyes is bigger than the other one now! His ears are the size of dessert plates!

We have that thread about embarrassing songs that we are afraid to admit we like. Well Hoff is an actor I am embarrassed to say I liked. He has turned into a joke and a living punch line. Believe it or not I remember when he played Snapper on the Young and the Restless back in the early 70's! I used to come home for lunch in 1st and 2nd grade since I lived a couple of blocks from school and my mom sister (who is a lot older than me) would have my lunch waiting and we would watch Y&R together. I was not a big Baywatch guy but I did watch Knight Rider. Now everyone's car talks to them but very few help you solve crimes

Oh, yeah! When I was 10, I was addicted to Knight Rider. It's just really unsettling to see him trying to pull the same routine twenty years later now that he looks more like Michael Douglas than Michael Knight.

On a side note: when you were a kid, did anyone else go out and sit in the driver's seat of your dad's car (parked, of course) and play pretend by talking to the car and pushing buttons on the console at random? Yeah, me neither.
