Starts tomorrow. Anybody excited? Macworld has been kind of a bore for the last few days. Steve Jobs health came away with the most buzz.

Some things I've heard about that we should know more about tomorrow

lots of shiny new Blu Ray players (including Vizio who is responsible for cheaper HDTVs)
HDTVs that connect to the internet

I'm hoping to hear about some OLED TV advancements and maybe some announcement from RIM which will benefit my blackberry.

I have heard attendance will really be down...from both people with booths as well as buyers. Have not heard any really good rumors yet.
And I have started the timer....

Samsung came out with that super-thin LCD tv, thinner than a cell phone. And Sony has the super-light mini-laptop. That's all I've seen so far. Super.

If the NFL would just make the Sunday Ticket available to everyone, I'd go with DISH in a heartbeat.

Hopefully RIM announces that the outages this past week or so are completely behind us.

I'm anxious to see if some of the mobile phone technology I have been privy to this past year finally gets a public viewing.

If that ever catches on somebody better come up with an external box. I don't want to have to get a new TV.

Directv can learn from it and start adding it...they are doing it more and more but right now it's based off of the DTV box rather then wifi which it should be

I am betting you are correct. But remember, 4g isn't that far down the road.

Yes on all three counts.

I am thrilled with the ViP 922, but it may mean I wait even longer to sign up for Dish as I was already waiting on the ViP 722k to come out any day now.

And yes, my custom media center computer does have the same functionality as the Sling devices. I can watch the stuff recorded on their from anywhere on the Internet. Only problem is that it doesn't support HD video and I'm not paying to upgrade my hardware. I'm just moving to Dish.

The Sling systems don't need a specific amount of bandwidth. That's the beauty of it. They automatically scale the quality based on how much network bandwidth is available. So even if you have DSL at home and a 2.5G phone, it will still stream. The quality will not be as good as if you had more bandwidth available, but it will work. It's pretty impressive really.

Man, I thought Palm was pretty much dead. This is getting all the hype today:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/09/techn ... lm.html?em

That is pretty sweet looking. The key is they got rid of WindowsMobile and created their own OS. Although since they haven't had to do that in a while, it could really suck. But it seems like everybody's raving about it so far. And by everybody, I mean CES geeks. It's gonna be with Sprint though. Too bad HMO probably just got into a long contract for his blackberry. But you may be better off with known quality with RIM.

PALM is on life support and this is a last ditch effort before they join forces with Windows Mobile or someone...PALM is a buggy OS that never has worked right...I've had 4 Treo's in my day and they are all the same

I hope this is the answer for them, I'd hate to see them be bought out to the dark side...but dont worry LUconn I have Sprint on a string, if I want to make the switch they'll help me out  8)
