In one charge related to the appointment of a senator to replace Barack Obama, prosecutors allege that Blagojevich sought appointment for himseld as Secretary of Health and Human Services in the new Obama administration, or a lucrative job with a union, in exchange for appointing a union-preferred candidate.

The Obama - Rezko deal is going to be analyzed as part of the subpoena... This could get interesting. I advocated, before Obamania took off, that the people of Illinois should recall Blagovich and have Obama run for governor of Illinois, then position himself for a presidential run in 2012 or 16. Obviously that never happened, and Obama is doing quite well for himself. I can't say the same about Blagovich.

Obama really should stand up and say something, you know, show actual leadership (in the same way that Palin said something when Ted Stevens was indicted), but apparently, no dice.

The Republican winner, "Joseph" Cao was born in Vietnam. I believe that he is the first Vietnamese to be elected to Congress. Despite the corruption of Mr. (90K of cold cash in the freezer) Jefferson, the Republican victory was still impressive in a Dem +28 district.

agreed. Though i only will be a citizen of illinois for a few more weeks, its still great news for illinoians that blagojevich is finally gone. Whats funny is one of the guys in my church is supposed to be his prayer partner, but I guess thats not going to well. Rod never set up a time to meet with him over the last several years.

he wasn't talking about Palin's charges...he was talking Ted Stevens..senator from Alaska who was charge with several counts of lying on senate documents...she quickly came out and said something when it went down
