The Alternate History Theme Park Where Dinosaurs Fought in the Civil War

Most speculative fiction surrounding the American Civil War imagines how the world would be different had the Confederacy won its independence. But roadside attraction creator Mark Cline has imagined an entirely different kind of Civil War science fiction. His fiberglass creations tell the tale of a group of Union soldiers who discover a lost valley of dinosaurs in Virginia and plot to use them as weapons against the South.

Funny. I thought this type of education would happen after Sarah Palin was elected.

Ironially enough there are a few Sci Fi book series out there about similar happenings. The most notable would be Harry Turtledoves 6 book series, but it involves WW II and aliens. Also, Guns of the South is a really good "What if..." book. The premise being if South African's had discovered time travel and supplied Robert E Less with automatic weapons......

Harry Turtledove also has a "What if..." series if the South had won the Civil War, and goes to WWII with the South aligning with Britain and France and the North becoming socialist and aligning with Germany and the Axis.

There's also another "What if" book out there that says if the South had won, Maryland, DC, and Kentucky join the South, the North's new capital would be Columbus, Texas would've ultimately become its own nation (with Oklahoma as part of it-sorry Sly, you have to take the Land Thieves as your own), the US doesn't get Alaska but the CSA does get Cuba, all three countries fight together with Brtiain in WWI and WWII, and ultimately end up reuniting.

This looks like a bad episode of Sliders.
