Seriously - 92% of Black Virginians voted for Obama. I think the NC number came out to be 94%.

No insight from me, just venting.

In the election in which so much is at stake, race trumps all else.
Race trumps Christian Morals
Race trumps Economy
Race trumps Wisdom
Race trumps Experience

Before I get crapped on, it should be obvious that I am not saying anything derrogatory against blacks. But when an opportunity came to get a black man into office, the "issues" didnt matter anymore to some. YouTube features the funniest and yet most disturbing vids of black people who are asked about Obama while being tagged with McCain's principles. On the other side, how many people voted for McCain for the same reason? Exit polls cant tell us, that's too bad.

There was a mentally retarded man in front of me in the ballot line who needed an assistant to help him vote. When the woman asked if he needed the electronic vote, he didnt know how to answer, his assistant took care of that. I know he has that right, but how educated can he be on the issues of our country? There's a 50% chance he cancelled out my vote. There's a 25% chance he cancelled out the democratic vote of the person behind me. (D-R-R, D-R-D, R-R-R, R-R-D for those who dont get it)

Which got me thinking. I really never understood how right you guys are when you say 80% of America doesnt know enough to make an educated vote. People hear the word change and would jump on a ship with no compass. McCain got votes because Palin is a woman. Obama got votes because he's black. McCain got votes because Obama's black.

I am not saying I know what policies are the best for our country. Im not saying I know everything about how politics work. I am saying that I spent the time to look into what each candidate stood for and who they claimed to be. As I left Heritage, I learned something about politics: It's the same now as it was in 6th grade.

how much different is that then any other democratic candidate?? I know more african americans voted this year, but not that many more...black people always vote mainly democratic anyways...as dumb as it is...

Obama got votes from other places that put this thing away so easily....

What are the chances we can get a basic competency test in order to vote in the next 4 years. 0% since it obviously benefits a certain party in power. How about if the Rs ever get complete control? 0% because they're too cowardly to touch a mythical "right to vote".

You forget about court rulings in the 60s and 70s that make it impossible as well.

Perhaps I am unaware of these court ruling altogether. I only know of amendments that say you can't discriminate based on age, race, or sex

In the segregated south, many of the states required tests in order to be eligible to vote, and they were declared unconstitutional along with the Jim Crow laws. At least thats what they said in history class several years ago.

It was a literacy test and the Supreme Court said it couldn't be used on non-English speaking citizens.

Which just proves Congress needs to make a law establishing English as our official language. Its been the dominant language since Jamestown, but no one's ever made it official.

Which will never happen.

I would like to state that, for the record, I'm really glad our football players are good at football.

For the record...

California prop 8 (banning gay marriage) wouldn't have passed, except 70 percent of black people voted for it.
In florida, the same thing.

Make of it what you will.

So basically, they voted for a man who-in practicality (he's said its one-man, one-woman, but he supports giving gay couples the same rights as straight ones)-supports what they voted against

obama is for the states to decide on this issue...he talked in circles when talking about this issue so he didn't scare off any votes from the gay community..but he is clearly against gay marriage..which is what this bill was all about

wow, did i just stick up for obama?? i don't see that happening much
