I have noticed a lot of confusion about his plan. The following article sums it up well. For a lot of college students, the Refund portion may be your benefit.

When one person calls something a tax hike and another calls it a tax break, they can't both be right.

Democratic Sen. Barack Obama has accused Republican Sen. John McCain of attempting to impose the "largest middle-class tax hike ever" on the American people.

How? By giving them a tax credit.............................And Obama's telling them a great big whopper.

i can appreciate the plan somewhat but the problem is he has to include non-tax payers as well which basically turns it into another piece of welfare for many people.

where is all this money coming from. if this was obama's plan, conservatives would be freaking out. but as long as the money doesn't come from the top 5% we are ok with it.

Why do we HAVE to include non tax payers? Its like it goes back to the old argument that Non-taxpayer's are entitled to something....they arent, no more then the self employed entitled to govt health care

We have a system they already take advantage of, go to the ER at 3am and you'll know what I'm talking about....I'll never forget when I as there with my father and I saw a mom and daughter getting out of the car and the daughter said "Mom, I'm not even sick" and she said "I dont care, you're going to act sick when we get in there" I'm not sure why she was doing that, medicine, food, I'm not sure but it happens....you see so many in there with simple injuries and illnesses.

If I'm going to be told that I have to pay for your health care I should have the right to tell you how to live, no more smoking, drinking you have to start exercising and dieting. If you're not willing to do these things then I should have the right to not be willing to pay for your health care.

I agree with your concerns. I posted this because it was one of the simplest explanations of the policy that I have seen and I have heard from a number of people that were not sure what the McCain campaign was proposing.
