In order to clean up the garbage that is sure to pile on thicker as Nov. 4th creeps up, can we move all political speech in to one-thread? Let's try and clean this up a little.

Remember that one time RTF said Michelle Obama was good looking? Every time I see her that gets more absurd.

Yeah, whoever said that was a moron. Every time I see her now, she looks like she's about to eat someone's soul.

You can put lipstick on Michelle, but in the end, she's still Michelle.
Do you know what the difference between Michelle and a pitbull is? Pitbull's are cute.

What do kittens and Michelle have in common?
They're both adorable... except Michelle.

I am just curious. Compared to the last few elections, and I know this is purely anecdotal, would you say your friends and family are more or less fired up about getting to the polls and voting.
Whatever your reason (voting against Obama, or for McCain/Palin) do you guys think the Republicans will have a strong turnout.
My exposure is somewhat limited but I think most of the base is really fired up about seeing Obama lose. Just my personal opinion, but I think the Republicans will turn out stronger than people think. I know for myself, I am much more fired up than I was 4 years ago. I am very concerned about the direction our country will be heading if Obama is elected and the democrats control the House and Senate.

Is anybody here a futurama fan? This is what this election sounds like to me:
John Jackson: "It's time someone had the courage to stand up and say: I'm against those things that everybody hates."
Jack Johnson: "Now, I respect my opponent. I think he's a good man. But quite frankly, I agree with everything he just said."
John Jackson: "I say your three cent titanium tax goes too far."
Jack Johnson: "And I say your three cent titanium tax doesn't go too far enough."

I think 4 years ago Bush rallied the Christian base...this year, McCain hasn't done anything to win over the same crowd, except for a positive showing at Saddleback. I think we'll find MORE people were motivated to see Obama lose, as you mentioned, then see McCain win.

I think you're discounting how much Palin has to some extent energized a large portion of the Christian base.

i don't know anyone energized by palin. everyone i know is very disappointed that they have to go vote for Mccain, but feel like they have no choice because they want to hold on to the few dollars they have left

ZOGBY: MCCAIN MOVES INTO LEAD 48-47 IN ONE DAY POLLING
ZOGBY SATURDAY: Republican John McCain has pulled back within the margin of error... The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday, one day, polling. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all...

That's why anecdotal evidence is no good. I know plenty of people thrilled with Palin. Not to mention oodles of fans at rallies and those who call into talk radio.

This is an VERY UNSCIENTIFIC poll but take a look at how many people dressed up as Sarah for Halloween...it's not because she's an idiot or anything like that but rather a new face that excited enough people to prob make her the top costume this year.

Are you sure they were not dressing up as Tina Fey?

Drive by Randolph College or Sweet Briar, and you'll meet many fans of Sarah Palin. Or just look at the bumper stickers on their cars. I bet you would see the same thing at Hollins University in Roanoke.

So...what time is everyone planning on voting on Tuesday. My precinct is Heritage Elementary, which is now expecting over 4000 new voters from LU. I am dragging my wife out of bed at 530 to go wait in the early line.
