That's weak. I guess his game plan is to play it conservative at this point. No pun intended.

Prevent defense...and we all know how that usually works out.

I could have been a little more creative with this and stuck a big LU on the podium, but I don't have the energy right now. You get the idea.

Down here, the Obama staff has cut off one TV station from interviews.

I fear, though, that the chosen one will sweep through the state next Tuesday.

How bout instead of Kaine stumping for Obama , he fixes the $1.2 billion deficit we are in just like the other jugheads who are leaving congress to help both candidates.

Kaine Confirmed?

According to ABC13...
Lynchburg, VA - Governor Tim Kaine will be on Liberty University's campus Monday rallying support for Barack Obama. A spokesperson with the University says Governor Kaine will be speaking during Monday's convocation at the Vine Center. Kaine will speak for approximately 10 minutes on behalf of the Obama-Biden campaign.

I'd say the chances of getting Kaine getting Booed are 20X greater when he starts talking about the Obamanator vs Obama himself.

I will be there and will probably be in the "booing" part of the crowd as soon as he says something stupid. i won't do it though unless it is deserved

Any "booing" will reflect poorly on the students and university.

Kaine was already on Campus as a guest of Falwell shortly before he passed on. Falwell gave him some gifts and entertained him cordially during the visit from media accounts (and Kaine's account.)

Kaine has toured the Law School and spoke positively of LU's role in higher education in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Most importantly, for those McCain-aanites, booing is exactly what made The New School in New York look ridiculous, arrogant, and disrespectful in media reports when they "boo-ed" and "heckled" McCain and carried on so that he initially couldn't even get his points out.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/20/nyreg ... ccain.html 'Cause this is how we all want the University to appear in Tuesday's AP Report. This line sounds uncannily familiar, where have I heard similar discourse?
"The senator does not reflect the ideals upon which this university was founded," she said, to a roaring ovation.
The protests grew louder and more frequent as he spoke. Some graduates walked out. Others laughed.

I am hopeful, as some of us were when Paul came to speak, that the student body will show the same respect that Christians are always moaning "liberal leaning" institutions fail to show conservative guest speakers. The student body came through then, hopefully they will now also.

More about the Governor's visit in the paper today:
Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. said details of the appearance were finalized over the weekend. Kaine is expected to speak at the beginning of the convocation program for about 10 minutes.

His address will be followed by a speech from former U.S. congressman Bob McEwen, R-Ohio, whose appearance was already on the schedule.

Falwell made a written statement on the governor’s pending visit Sunday night in response to an e-mail seeking comment.

“While it is no secret who many of us in leadership at LU are supporting in this election, the school has not endorsed or opposed either candidate,” he wrote. “I believe LU’s students will be respectful and polite to Gov. Kaine even though the vast majority of them do not support Sen. Obama. Even Ted Kennedy received a cordial reception at LU when he visited in 1983.

“There are some Obama supporters on campus and I am sure they will express their support tomorrow. I am looking forward to the visit and, while I do not believe any of our students will change their votes this late in the campaign, I do believe it will be an excellent learning experience for them.”

i think he is a nice guy and have no problem with him, but if he comes in and starts saying dumb crap and people start chanting for obama i will at least start a mccain chant if i don't boo. i don't like mccain, but i saw a bumper sticker that i agree with: the best reason to vote mccain is obama

This is the Governor of the Commonwealth...not some random Obama supporter. Liberty and other Virginia private schools participate in something called the TAG...$2000+ grant to Virginia residents that attend private schools. The TAG is up for discussion in state budget cuts. This is not the time to P.O. the Governor.

LU also has 4200 registered voters, so this isn't a good time to PO LU students and staff either

FIFY...and you have a point. I think Kaine is savvy enough to NOT do that.

Did anyone see clips of his visit to JMU...
...there was someone (I am sure well-placed) in the crowd right behind him in the camera view...wearing a "Liberty University" sweat shirt.
(I should have TiVo'd it for proof...but you can see her in the dark grey sweatshirt on behind Obama and to his right)
