IMO...it should be ZERO. Let AIG, WaMu, Lehman Brothers, Wachovia (currently sending out feelers for mergers) fall on their face...other institutions will rise and take their place. Out of the 20 or so stocks that started the Dow Jones, only 1 (GE) now remains. Let the economy go through this cycle, it'll rebound with new institutions.

Or give us taxpaying Americans the ability to dictate how the government uses our money.

Most of those other institutions went under during the Great Depression. The point of the bill is to avoid another situation like that, at least in theory.

Atrain, you'll have to vote third party for that. :beatinghorse

But I digress...check your PM for some thoughts on how to protect your savings from being impacted negatively by the decisions from our cluel...fearless leaders. I'd put it here, but it's over two paragraphs so it'd be a waste as it appears only the short PACop ever reads through my stuff with comprehension intact. (Hint: Precious Metals)

I agree!!! As did the republicans and 93 dems today!!! I'm pretty disappointed in W for pushing a bad plan. Watch oil prices fall if this deal never happens.
