Interesting rumor floating around. It's got less than 1% chance of happening but still interesting, nonetheless.
It’s almost certainly just a case of the telephone game gone high-tech, but there’s an Internet rumor surging through inboxes and discussion boards that Joe Biden will drop out as Barack Obama’s running mate after his Oct. 2 debate with Sarah Palin — and that he’ll be replaced by Hillary Clinton on the Democratic presidential ticket.

There's no good excuse he could make up for him to drop out and yet retain his senate seat.

Well, he can drop out, but I don't see how Clinton can replace him...aren't the VP candidates listed with the presidential candidates on the ballots at the polls?

Why would Clinton join on...this obviously shows panic and that they know they could be in trouble without a big boost, meaning she'll get her shot in 4 years...against palin of course

It would totally work against Obama if this happened. The Democratic party is a mess...and it gives even more confidence to the McCain/Palin ticket. Biden was seen as a "safe" choice when he was added to the ticket--while McCain has absolutely jumped on a limb by adding Palin.

I hope he pulls something like this.

I agree...it's already being discussed that he failed on his first presidential decision I could only imagine how much ammo this would give McCain if he was to do this

it almost seems set up. i mean look at the completely retarded mistakes biden is making....and obama is continuously getting called out for it....it seems to ridiculous but it wouldnt' completely surprise me to see him step down....and i agree...this would be a terrible move on the democrats part.

but would it reallly surprise anyone?

the democrats should have had this election in the bag and its neck to neck! all they had to do was get someone close tot he middle who could snag enough "oops we made a mistake electing GW" repubs and this election is wrapped up...but no, those smug idiots decide to appoint one of the most liberal senators we've seen...

morons..

History has shown that Biden would be a gaffe machine. The Obama campaign either had to take a leap of faith or have an extremely tight leash to expect different results.
